Condi reveals the moment she thought President Bush had been lethally poisoned after 9/11

Condoleezza Rice has revealed the moment she thought that she and President George W. Bush had suffered deadly botulism poisoning.

In her new book, the former secretary of state reveals that in the weeks following 9/11, there were scares over smallpox and radioactive attacks on Washington – and a potential poisonous toxin attack on the White House.

She was on a trip to a summit meeting in China with Bush when former-Vice President Dick Cheney delivered the blow via a secure video conference line.

In an interview with ABC News, Ms Rice explained: ‘The vice president came on the screen and said that the White House detectors have detected botulinum toxin, and we were all – those of us who were exposed – were going to die.

‘I remember everybody just sort of freezing, and the President saying: “What was that? What was that, Dick?”

‘We were just a little unnerved.’

According to the Center for Biosecurity, botulinum toxin is the ‘most poisonous substance known’ and ‘extremely potent and lethal’.

It leads to botulism poisoning, which manifests itself as cramping, blurred vision, difficulty breathing and muscle weakness – and ultimately death.

So tired of establishment Republicans, including almost everyone who was in the Bush Administration. Wish they would go away, especially Karl Rove.

I’m watching her on Hannity right now and think I’ll buy her book. Her personal story is compelling and she was a very capable cabinet member, not to mention she is a real lady.

Condi was at the Stanford/UCLA game, tossing the coin before the game. She was booed loudly by the local commies. You may not agree with her actions as Secretary of State, but she deserved better.

Really? How many establishment Republicans have been potentially targeted with lethal poison? Can’t we give President Bush credit for handling 9/11 like a statesman, bringing us from the brink of the most horrific? I certainly can.

I can think of a whole lot of adjectives to describe Condi, and not one of them is negative.

Not that I completely agree with all her positions, but she has served America and served her well.

I got her back.

I fondly remember the day when conservatives could justifiably accuse liberals of having knee-jerk reactions. That day is gone, as your comment shows.

I wonder if she’ll ever get around to discussing the ricin letters aimed at the white House a few years later.

I think that comment would earn you “Pinhead” status on BOR’s show. Karl Rove is nowhere near the same league of class and intelligence as Condi Rice, who I think most of us here have ultimate respect for.

Botulism doesn’t have to be lethal with appropriate medical care.

Antidote , ventilator and time .

We could have done a lot worse than Condi.... Obama has proved it with Hillary Clinton.

I watched the Hannity interview of Condi and thought it was excellent! She is a fantastic woman with a brain, as compared to the present SOS, Hillary!

About time though to stop having female SOSs and put in some hard-nosed guy like John Bolton who doesn’t do all the touchy-feely stuff!
