Free Republic founder Jim Robinson has a message for supporters of Mitt Romney: go away.
In an email to POLITICO this afternoon, Robinson admitted that the site routinely blocks Romney supporters from posting -- and offered no apologies for the practice:
Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government, pro-constitution, pro-liberty site. Governor Romney is none of the above. His record is that of an abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun grabbing, global warming advocating, big government, mandate loving, constitution trampling, flip-flopping liberal progressive with no core values. That and the fact that he is the chief architect and advocate for ObamaCare disqualifies him for any consideration whatsoever on Free Republic as a potential nominee for the presidency.

If Romney becomes our nominee, will the regulars on this board continue to bash him?
Thanks. It’s pretty depressing a whole ahead of the election to realize Obama will serve a second turn.
If ramen noodles is the the candidate, I’ll hold my nose. But, I’m so sick and tired of voting for the ‘next guy in line’. Myth is the same old. But, he’s not Obama.
We are making progress. No one said we’d change the opinions of the electorate in 4 years. This is a long haul process. The dems took some 90 plus/minus years to crap on this county.
It’s going to take that much time, and us tea partiers will make it happen, and sustain it, if we pass it on America will still be. Until our next generations give up, it will end.
I raised 3 conservative kids, did you?
So far, we have won.
Our current occupant of the WH should be impeached. He’s a treasonous bastard.
I only had 2 kids so I only raised 2 that are Conservative. One is career Air Force, the other works in an evil financial firm helping responsible investors manage their money.
Again, thank you Mr. Robinson.
No. Was it required?
If I’m correct, I believe most posters here would have preferred Romney over McCain. Either way, I don’t think there was much stopping the dreamy BS Obama had. This election, giving dreamy speeches aren’t going to work out well.
No - no way. Most posters here preferred McCain over Romney, and this time around he is still deemed the least preferred candidate here.
||Rhane, Romney is not a conservative.
Debatable. Don’t have enough time to get into that.
||He is a fraud and part of the gang that wants to permanently rule us and rob us.
Sounds like OWS talk.
||Out here, we call the members of that gang as RINOs. He is for killing babies, increasing the debt, bailing out loss making cronies, nationalized healthcare, global warming fraud, and so on.
You see, I don’t believe any of those things you mention above in regards to my choice.
||Are you sure you are not part of his campaign and someone who has been asked to sign up on FR?
Nope. In fact, without Romney running I would not have gotten into checking out many of these conservative web sites. I actually thought he was one of few candidates with an ability to think intelligently about things and with a good record.
||This decision to ban Romney from FR is a great one. IMO, his shill Bill O’Reilly should be banned too.
I can only disagree with it and that’s about it. There’s tons of good news I like reading here. It’s a good one-stop-shop for those particular items. I don’t intend to run off from this site, there may be a day in another four years (hopefully eight years) where we might agree on a choice.
Good for you! We’re army. Right now, my kids at home moms, are starting home schooling. My Army daughter (see my page for her Iraq tour) married career Army, is either going to home school, or do on post schooling. Aren’t you proud of the outcome of your family :)?
Way to go!
Why a Beretta? That is not an American gun.
I agree. The purge has already weakened this site.
I think the ‘other side’ can hold their own fine, especially after the stuff that went on in the caucuses. Romney could get only one delegate in mass and after seeing some of the tactics used, I’ve even lost my perception of him as a ‘nice guy’.
We will never get this country on track if we keep making excuses for ‘conservatives’ who behave opposite of what you have been led to think.
