Sounds like Sully Sullenberger has some company. That’s a great pilot right there but I’m glad I’m not responsible for his laundry.

Truley remarkable. Those pilots are heroes. I doubt anyone’s luggage was harmed or scratched in the incident.

One of the "forgotten" benefits of an active military is that they train a lot of very, very good pilots.
They eventually leave the service and many end up piloting commercially.
Since our military has been in a "state of war" for over 10 years, I wouldn't be surprised if this hero was a former jet jockey.

Why didn’t they land on three pickup trucks like in the TV commercial? Just kidding. I know the commercial is only one.

Cpt. Wrona has 20 years experience on 767.
He is a member of Polish National Team in Glider Aerobatics,
from Leszno Aeroclub.

I fly LOT regularly. Comparable to Continental Airlines in terms of service and quality. But next time I go, I want this guy as my pilot.

Yikes, a 767? I thought when I first heard it was a 737. Much bigger plane... ratchets things up a couple notches.
Truly amazing landing, now seeing the video.

Three point tail dragger.
Wings and fuselage look pretty good, considering.

Nice pic.
Is that a roadrunner on the tail?

Watched the landing, it was amazing. They said the bottom of the plane got extreme hot (go figure) and there was a fire somewhere but the firehoses took care of the problems.
Nice to have good news for a change.
To: Former Fetus
Praise the Lord, nobody was hurt! Fortunately it was light having burned off most of its fuel.
To: BubbaJunebug
Wow, what an amazing job. That landing looked as smooth as if the gear had been down.

I finally found and watched the video taken along the axis of travel.
Looked like the foam was just laid along the center of the runway which would explain the "smoke" and the sparks from the engine/runway rubbin'. But, yea, the landing was perfect as the nose never even looked like it pitched down, nor was there a bounce from a hard landing.
Give the guy a medal and a lifelong free drinks card.

The videos don’t show the truck that arrived to carry that captain’s balls.
