If that happened in any church I was attending, I would walk out.

I would not only walk out, I would stop in the main aisle & LOUDLY inform the ‘pastor’ what I thought of his behavior & that I would NEVER be back—nor would any of my family. NOr would anyone I could talk into doing the same. Since I can project a fairly loud voice, even some neighboring churches might hear my tirade. It WOULD be a tirade!!

For this to happen at the National Cathedral is more than disgusting, not to mention the other 49 churches.

Since the Islamists are burning Christians & their churches in Egypt, one would think this could never happen. I would start proceedings to get my ‘pastor’ DEFROCKED.....

Let know when a Mosque in IRAN lets the Roman Catholic Bishop be their ‘priest de jour’ & is reading from the Bible. Or one in Egypt. Or Somalia...or wherever.

Then I MIGHT think about apologizing to my local ‘pastor’.

But- on 2nd thought—I will not.

I would tear my clothes,

throw dust in the air,

shout “Ichabod, the Glory has departed” .....

THEN, I’d walk out.

If that happened in our church, the church would empty out and it would never be filled again!!

Some Christian ministers are sooooooo concerned with being the 'most open minded' they've lost the ability to judge the merit of what they're being 'open' minded about..

IMHO Being open minded about Islam is a mistake.

There are nice Muslims - but they're nice in spite of the religion - NOT because of it.

Here's how the Quran works. Mohammad over the course of his life would change a portion of what he wrote - he would 'update' what was written. The newer writings TRUMPED the older. So if he said 'be kind to Jews' in the first few years when he was establishing this religion - but in the last years of his life said to 'kill Jews' only the LAST comments would be binding.

Christian ministers think his comments hold equal weight - they don't. Early comments - usually the more moderate areas of the Koran - are disregarded.

The Koran (Quran) as it is set up is intentionally confusing. I believe the 'order' is shortest chapters to longest chapters... A system that has NOTHING to do with how the belief system is interpreted by religious Islamic scholars. The 'shortest to longest chapter' system allows the book to be all things to all people - because Mohammond changed his mind a lot. Only his later thoughts 'count'.

Higher up Imans have the book in order - and they know what matters and what doesn't. English versions of the book are available that are written sequentially. Those are the ONLY books that should be read in a Church - and only those last chapters written ( chronologically). Then the book can be seen for what it really is...
