October 31, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Girl Scouts of Colorado has announced that 7-year-old Bobby Montoya, who was initially turned away from a local Girl Scout chapter on the grounds that he is not a girl, will be allowed to join since he identifies as a girl.
Rachelle Trujillo, vice president of communications with Girl Scouts of Colorado, told CNSnews.com that any child who is living life as a girl is eligible for membership in the organization.
We have privacy rights that we are very respectful of with families, Trujillo said. We do not require proof of gender when a family wants their daughter to be a member of Girl Scouts.
Bobbys mother, Felisha Archuleta, says her son was humiliated when he was turned away by a Girl Scout leader earlier this month.
When the story became public, Girl Scouts of Colorado released a statement repudiating the troop leaders actions.
Our requests for support of transgender kids have grown, and Girl Scouts of Colorado is working to best support these children, their families and the volunteers who serve them, the statement said.
In this case, an associate delivering our program was not aware of our approach. She contacted her supervisor, who immediately began working with the family to get the child involved and supported in Girl Scouts.
Archuleta has since told ABC News that she is in contact with the organization and has been assured that the leader who rejected Bobby would be given sensitivity classes.
I believe [Bobby] was born in the wrong body, she said. “For birthdays, he asked for ponies. He had a princess birthday, and last year when he turned 7, he had a Rapunzel birthday. I have just basically supported him.”
She claimed that her son has believed he was a girl since he was two years old.
The news service reported that Bobby has started dressing in girl clothing in public after his clash with the girl scouts. According to Archuleta, in the past, he has mostly gone to school dressed as a boy to avoid teasing.
The 7-year-old appeared last week on the Denver-based news station 9news.com dressed in girl clothing.
I like brats, barbies, strawberry shortcake, he told the reporter. I like any girl stuff.
The leader who first rejected this kid is being given a 'sensitivity class."
Is that like requiring her to attend a re-education camp?
´No more cookies for me, thanks.´
That leader must really really really REALLY want to stay in Girl Scouts
I know what I’d do if a Council did this to me
(all leaders are VOLUNTEERS, I guess this one just enjoys saying “Thank You Ma’am ... may I have another”?
AS for Bobby- well, once his leader gets re-educated she’ll be responsible for making Bobby into a woman of “Courage Confidence and Character” and teaching her/him to excel in female leadership
Next, I wait for 17 year old gay teenage boys to join Girl Scouts to learn to camp like girls- how can National say “no” after this?
While the Boy Scouts have fought it at every step, the Girl Scouts have completely embraced the LGBTXYZABC agenda.
This poor kid is going to get his butt kicked by his classmates if they ever see him dressed as a girl,or find out about it in some other fashion.
“But mark this, there will be terrible times in the last days...”2 Timothy:3
Evil is advanced with positive-sounding arguments for “tolerance”. Once wicked behavior was medicalized in the 60’s-70’s, evil was able to hide its face behind various syndromes and “sicknesses”. No longer called “sin”. (Which is a tragedy because sin can be forgiven; syndromes cannot).
Dr. Thomas Szasz crusaded against the notion of psychiatrists being able to involuntarily incarcerate people simply on the say so of their invented syndromes. Though an atheist, Szasz was extremely lucid on this issue and on the side of right (whether he would agree or not).
The notion of a boy being considered a girl “in the wrong body” is a satanic fabrication. The adults misguiding this young man will answer to the Lord for it.
If I were this leader I’d tell them where they can go.
I really could care less what the GSoA decided in this case. What REALLY bothers me is the acceptance of the claim that a 2-year-old child could understand enough about gender to *decide* he was a girl. SERIOUS problems exist in this child’s MOTHER. I feel very sorry for this young boy and he is in my prayers...
This gender-bending has been going on for a while, but not so extreme.
My mom was from a relatively conservative background, but based on her early 1970s psychology education she tried to give me, her then-eight-year-old son, a baby doll for Christmas. It was trendy to break stereotypes. (The doll was black too, I guess it doubled as an anti-racist measure).
Of course, I assumed Santa Claus had misplaced my sisters' gift, so I gave it to them to play with and wouldn't listen to her foolish claims that it was intended for me.
Mom and I sure can laugh about that incident now, I hope this kid can turn out so fortunate.
