Herman Cain, who spent Monday denying that he sexually harassed two women while he headed the National Restaurant Association, late in the day offered details of an incident with a female colleague that led to allegations of inappropropriate behavior. Also, for the first time, the 2012 presidential candidate acknowledged that he knew about a settlement that was offered to one of the women.
Byron York of the Washington Examiner had details of what Cain said in the interview wtih Greta Van Susteren, which will air tonight on Fox.
My general counsel said this started out where she and her lawyer were demanding a huge financial settlement
I dont remember a number
But then he said because there was no basis for this, we ended up settling for what would have been a termination settlement, Cain said in the interview, as reported by the Washington Examiner. Maybe three months salary. I dont remember. It might have been two months. I do remember my general counsel saying we didnt pay all of the money they demanded.
Cains statement represent a reversal from what the Republican said only hours ago, when he denied that he knew about any settlement that was reached after the claims of sexual harassment were made.

If so, why would you want him for President?
Jeez...
It was years ago, and I continue to believe that Herman Cain is our best candidate. I like, respect and believe in him.
OK, Palin is not running , Cain is toast, lets dump him. Who's next on the cutting board? Let's get rid of all of them....We don't need the Democrats to kill them off, we're doing it ourselves.
Come on MSM, give us some more mud on the wall, we'll take care of the rest..........
A cash settlement? Did you harass Herman Cain? :-D Go Herman - and get your story straight.
Stick a fork in pizzaman....
How long before the commies start asking if their were pubes on the Coke can? This ain't going away. High Tech Lynching, part Deux.
I think this was probably orchestrated by Obama, who would naturally hate a REAL “African American” opposing him. Even though it’s pretty unlikely that Cain would have been the candidate, Obama is a vindictive, spiteful individual.
That said, Cain has handled this so badly that he has shown he’s not ready for prime time. He knew about it weeks ago, and he still doesn’t have a firm reply or isn’t certain what he did???
If you're a Cain supporter, you know what it's like to be falsely accused so why are you accusing someone else when you have no proof. You're no better than these women.
I don’t think he said that. He said he didn’t know the details of the settlement and he hoped they didn’t pay her very much because the charge was baseless.
I’m sure he’s talked to the attorneys by now. If I was him I’d identify the woman. Someone talked.
I agree. I remember that fatuous answer Clinton gave regarding toking weed. I also remember thinking, “Yeah, you missed the point of the experience there, Bill.”
I think it was Newt Gingrich who was asked pretty much the same, and his answer was something to effect of (not an exact quote here, but a synopsis), “Yeah, and so what? It was the 60s, and a lot of folks were smoking reefer. It made me hungry, gave me a headache, and I never touched it again.”
That’s how you answer scandalous questions put forth by the MSM.
Trash them, wel'll take care of Cain..... /sarc
This whole issue smells to high heaven!
Exactly. We haven’t even heard the GVS interview! Again, it’s sickening to me how many people get their opinions from the dumping grounds of others. Do people ever try to walk in another’s shoes? Try being Herman Cain for an hour right now and see how you do.
Cain gotta wonder why he ever threw his hat into the ring.
The Post is spinning this like it is a reversal when it is not. He still does not the exact amount of the settlement. That was his original point. Chill, people.
I've not seen pics or names anywhere.
