Now that Karen Pascoe is headed back home, Jack The Cat is Lost in AA Baggage Facebook page reports tonight that she spent the weekend visiting with her beloved ca, Jack. The visit was kept hush hush to avoid a media circus at the veterinary hospital ...
Jack is still critical at this time. He has shown some improvement, but the biggest issue is some life-threatening skin wounds that are present. He is severely muscle-wasted and has evidence of fatty liver syndrome, which lets us know his malnourishment was pretty chronic. ...
The good news from Saturday is that Jack stood up on his own for a short time; another encouraging sign. ... GOOD NEWS!! Everything the vet is measuring on Jack is trending in the direction of him getting healthier!!! AND
our boy ate some food on his own!!!!

After everything this poor kitty has gone through... I hope he gets better. I do know that cats that lose weight suddenly (due to starvation) can pose a serious health risk.
Another update on Jack the Cat. Slowly but surely he’s improving.
The fact that he’s able to stand, although for a short time and that he’s eating a little on his own are great signs.
He definitely has the will to live. Silly as it sounds but you can see that in his eyes. Years ago, we had cats and one reached 38 pounds. Yes... it was a fat cat. Anyways, our vet lectured us and lectured us about fatty livers and cats... so we switched to a lower calorie food and she “slowly dieted” for months and months.
IIRC I’ve seen studies that say yo yo severe dieting and weight gain in humans are actually worse for one’s health than being obese.
I couldn’t argue with that if I tried. How many times have you heard that someone dropped 30 pounds quickly and then regained 25 and then dropped 10. It is crazy. Slow and steady... wins the race.

GtG
I imagine a baggage area would be a noisy, scary place to be for a housecat...
Also, you can BET the AA’s attorney’s have told the airline to pay for everything, and give this woman whatever she wants, to keep the lawsuits away...
IIRC this cat is no Spring Chicken either. He’s older, and that will also add to the mix.
Hoping the kitty makes it OK. He’s been through a lot.
Americana = Americans
Jack the cat (and several other lost cats, including one that was later found dead after Jack was lost) are being lost because TSA is opening the carriers to inspect them in an open area at JFK, instead of in a closed room, one at a time.
Disgusting! I suppose this is instead of getting our act together regarding terrorists and profiling behavior like Israel does.

Than again look how the TSA treats children, the elderly, and the sick.
What the hell did they put this cat through?
Good to hear that Jack was saved from death-by-TSA, just in the nick of time. Here’s hoping that he continues to recover and that he’s able to go home well and happy.
Defund the TSA. Let the airlines take care of their own security. They care a lot more about it than the TSA PC zombies do. Reinstate profiling. Stop torturing your customers.
The airline industry will boom, but that’s not what zer0 wants, now is it.
