Too bad. Is it difficult to get a permit? Is he talking about a CC permit, or a permit just to purchase?
SC is a "Shall Issue" state, meaning the process is relatively simple. Fingerprints, background check, that sort of thing. The license covers CC for sure, I'm not certain on the specifics of open carry limitattions.

The problem with SC is their lack of reciprocity with other states. I have an Indiana CCW. I will have a Utah non-res CCW soon. I can still not carry in SC.
