And don’t think for one frickin’ second that if this was PERRY accused of sexual harassment that the Cainbots would be puking on themselves in glee...

RE :" So how could Cain and his team not have been prepared for this? If there was a payout to these women, which the campaign seems to allow is possible, then how was there no plan in place for this contingency? Surely they long knew that some rival campaign would unearth these allegations and that this would be tremendously dangerous for a candidate who is an ordained minister. "

Does this mean Cain will be repeatedly asked the question :"Have you ever been accused ...?" everytime he gives an interview? We won't know if this has legs until Politico gives more info to keep it alive, or Cain does.

Cain has not come out with the Weiner denial which is what they were fishing for.

This, to me, is one of the major weaknesses of Cain. One of my complaints was that he’s used to being a radio presenter and just stating opinions, so he rarely has a serious, enactable plan behind them. The other is that he has virtually no political experience.

Somebody pointed out that when GWB ran, he reviewed anything that could possibly be considered damaging (all sorts of records, including his wife’s involvement in a traffic accident that caused a death) and was simply ready with a statement when they were brought up, as he knew they would be.

The above article also states that Cain has known about this for some time, so surely he should have been ready. Remember, Obama did in a rival in Chicago by getting someone to leak some nasty details of his divorce proceedings, so running against Obama was obviously going to be particularly risky.

There are Obama Rat trolls here on Free Republic masquerading as conservatives.
These trolls have a clear intent to bring down republican candidates who have risen in the polls. Obama Rat trolls should be identified and outted.

First with Bachman, then with Perry, now with Cain (and of course, always with Romney), the Obama Rats use a deceptively simple approach.

They camp out on a thread that seems to support a candidate, Cain for example.

They use one-liners and ad hominem insults to attack that candidate, while implying that they support another candidate, for instance, Perry. Then when one visits the Perry threads, that same poster rarely, if ever, appears. When he does, the appearance is luke warm, and mainly directed toward tearing down some other candidate. When challenged, the Obama Rat trolls avoid supporting the candidate they imply that they support.

In addition, the Obama Rats seem to use many of the same talking points, often referring to Mike Huckabee, or some other candidate from the past. They use virulent attacks on individual posters, who disagree with them, to try to drive that poster off the thread.

One need only research the history of comments from suspected Obama Rats to see the pattern.

Obviously, we each have different views on the candidates. Those differing views are worthy of debate.

However, unless a poster starts finding positive points with a candidate, any candidate, with as much vigor as he tears down other candidates, then he is just another shrill Obama Rat troll, not worthy of debate. He should be identified and outted.

Do not underestimate the Obama machine. The following link compares the relative internet capability of that machine utilizing paid staff on Twitter to the significantly lesser capability of each of the republican candidates. Is it even reasonable to presume that the Obama Rats would not have the same capability to influence Free Republic?

Q: This is from Fox News????

A: Yes

Q: Have they been infiltrated by libtards?

A: YES, just look at some of the guest O’Riley has on regularly or look at Sheep Smith.

Q: Maybe I missed something who is making these charges against Cain?

A: 2 anonymous women.

Q: And what were the charges? Did he say he saw a ‘pubic hair’ on something?

A: Allegedly, Cain did ‘something’ unwanted over 12+ years ago

Childish finger pointing and innuendo from some of the less pragmatic on this forum, won't solve a thing. The points you made about Gingrich being the next “Flavor of the week”, are very true. Although we both have been here long enough to know the outcome of how well Gingrich will stand up to the MSM smear machine. Gingrich will make Cain look like Mother Theresa in comparison.

This little revelation about Cain was all too predictable. It hit at the right time before the primary season kicks in.
The damage will still be significant among the general apolitical public. It's just a fact of American Politics and proof that Cain is an amateur and has difficulty dealing with it effectively.

Were charges made 12 years ago? Who are these women? Do they have any evidence?

I believe there were a lot of sexual harassment charges in the 90s -- after a temp (yes, a temp) working in a California law firm was awarded millions when she claimed sexual harassment. I believe the case was pretty well publicized. I never heard if the verdict was overturned or the award reduced, but the law firm I was working for at the time suddenly came out -- within days -- with a comprehensive sexual harassment policy. Not that I would question their sincerity . . ;-)

Of course we would, because Perry’s an idiot who’s campaign needs to be destroyed. Cain on the other hand is perfect.

I heard that as a state attorney general running for governor Cain once raped a woman in a hotel room and then told her to “put some ice on that”

oh...wait. that might have been someone else.
