In his piece today entitled Sarah Palin is wreaking havoc on the campaign trail, GOP sources say, Politicos Jonathan Martin (who was tasked with the Republican Party beat for the website for the 2008 elections) falsely claims Sarah Palin backed out of a scheduled interview with talk-radio host Mark Levin:
According to a source familiar with the situation, she backed out of planned interviews with conservative talk-show hosts Sean Hannity and Mark Levin the morning she was scheduled to talk to them.
Levin contested this claim on his facebook page, and has asked Politico to retract this statement:
This is a flat out lie. Sarah Palin never backed out of any interview with me. Period. And John Martin, the reporter, never contacted me to ask me directly. I insist on a retraction.
Red State seconded the request. Allow us to be third.
Martin came under scrutiny in the blogosphere during the 2008 campaign for leading the investigation into the personal life of Joe the Plumber. From Newsbusters:
Jonathan Martin of The Politico was among the first out of the gate, with blog posts noting that Wurzelbacher, affectionately known by most of America as Joe The Plumber, has a tax lien against him and doesnt have a plumbers license. Martin conveniently forgot to mention that the law doesnt require one.

They threw the first stone. Let's repay the favor TEN FOLD, without getting angry of course, just getting (MORE THAN) even.
A hatchet man.
“Lets see...first they lied about Reagan and I did nothing...then Bork...Thomas....GHWB...GWB...Palin...and now Bachman.
Remember what Rush said months ago when people would tell him that Palin is damaged goods....every GOP candidate will eventually be damaged goods....they are just going to go down line. Who will it be next Cain or Perry? The MSM is going to pick the GOP candidate and then theyll tear that person appart once he gets the nomination.”
And now Cain...
Just speculation in regards to the smear of Cain, but Jonathan Martin has used Romney aides in the past to run Politico hit jobs on his competition:

I believe that with this, politico does not realize the extent to which it has damaged itslf...but it will.
Now why would they bother doing this, when they insist Palin is irrelevant?
How did it damage itself? This is what Politico is, this is what Politico does. There is no lawsuit here, and Politico has no credibility left to lose with conservatives. If pressed, Martin will probaby imply (but not state clearly) that Levin lied to protect his friend Sarah Palin. If pressed harder, he will grudgingly admit that perhaps his source was not quite as "familiar with the situation" as he had, in good faith, believed. In fact, he probably just made the whole thing up.
I meant what they just tried to do to Herman Cain. And if this came from either the romney camp or the perry camp as many people are speculating, whoever it was will go down in flames.
“And if this came from either the romney camp or the perry camp as many people are speculating, whoever it was will go down in flames.”
Do you think so? I really hope you’re right. But will we (and the public) ever know or find out the truth on this?
In honor of the lib/commies wearing their werewolf and ghost masks (figuratively speaking) against those two, fine, upstanding people, I am doing my Norwegian troll song for them.
It is halloween afterall.
Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

I have no doubt that slime ball is behind the current Cain smear.

Herman Cain sounds off on race, a debate win, and the need to simplify government

[snip] .... “Here’s my theory,” said Cain, leaning forward in his chair. “Let’s talk about the current field of Republican candidates. They can’t go after Obama as hard as I can because they’re not black. I think that, either subconsciously or deliberately, they are being coached to not say it a certain way, that you’re going to be labeled a racist and the liberal media is going to try to bring you down, because they still want to protect their precious Obama.”
Cain believes his audiences are a different story. “The voters, they hear my message first, not ‘He could take it to Obama,’ because they are more concerned about stopping Obama than taking it to Obama,” he explained. “This is what I’m hearing and this is what I’m feeling. And the race card is going to be short-lived if Herman Cain gets the nomination.”
“They’re going to come after me more viciously than they would a white candidate,” Cain responded. “You’re right. Clarence Thomas. And so, to use Clarence Thomas as an example, I’m ready for the same high-tech lynching that he went through — for the good of this country.” Cain smiled broadly. “I’m ready for the same high-tech lynching.” .........” [snip]

Sexual harassment used to mean something definite: A boss demanding sexual favors from a subordinate in exchange for reward (a raise, a promotion, etc.)
But feminists wouldnt stop there. They so expanded and debased the term that just about any boss or senior level employee is guilty before proven innocent.
Nowadays, any behavior that makes a woman uncomfortable or contributes to a hostile climate is called sexual harassment. Obviously these things are totally subjective. ...”

Rove is evidently for the nomination of Romney. I remember when the Bushies slandered McCain back in 2000. Remember McCain unbraided Bush to his face, and W. was befuddled and discomfited.
