A lesbian student has been crowned homecoming king at a Californian high school.
During a pep rally at Patrick Henry High School in San Diego on Friday, the announcement was made about senior Rebeca Arellano.
Rebeca's girlfriend and fellow student, Haileigh Adams, was nominated to be homecoming queen.

Parents of lesbian students don’t have to worry about them becoming pregnant before they finish school.
Agreed! From one who has lived here many years.
I call BS. They’re gay the way Ann Heche was gay.
They’re LUG’s—Lesbians Until Graduation.
They just don’t have the look. If they were REALLY lesbians nobody would look at them, let alone crown them.
Another reason for the separation of School and State.

Arellano posted a statement to those who opposed her on her Facebook wall that read: "For all the girls who think tradition should be continued, go back to the kitchen, stop having sex before you're married, get out of school and job system, don't have an opinion, don't own any property, give up the right to marry who you love, don't vote, and allow your husband to do whatever he pleases to you. Think about the meaning of tradition when you use it in your argument against us."
A good many students may have the attitude that "if you want to make the school look stupid, I'll help".
I entered California high school a huge school booster, and after four years of the crap they considered thinking, I left, thrilled to get away from ALL the idiots, administrator, faculty and student.
Had we not moved from that area (San Carlos area of San Diego) to Chula Vista, that would have been my son’s high school (and daughter’s, in a few years0. I have a very good conservative friend who lives in that neighborhood whose son attends....I will have to ask her her thoughts.
Who cares what the deviant winner thinks? I still think that she was elected as a high school goof on tradition, not because she/he was more kingly or queenly than the rest of the student body.
I was listening to the radio waiting at a light when that song came on, and while it was playing, what of all things rolls through the intersection? A Snap-on Tools truck
Its is a sick and evil world and America is not exempt from it.
No way would I allow a child to be in this school. subjecting children to perversion used to be a criminal charge. Now its done in the schools...
High School kids always LOVE doing the outrageous to shock their parents, teachers, and administrators. I think this falls into that category. Unfortunately the adults went passively along with it, no doubt due to political correctness.
In this era of facebook and cell phones, there's not even the fig leaf argument of supposedly fostering socialization.
If she opposed tradition she wouldn’t being going to homecoming, let alone running for its court. She’s a hypocrite.
Thread Winner.
Some years ago a former aquaintance informed me that he was a volunteer "counselor" for school children who had expressed some doubt about their own gender role.
I suspect that he was in it for the "Bennies".
