I’m thinking more like “the bombing begins in 24 hours - you have 23 hours and 59 minutes to pack up and get 50+ miles away from Israel on all sides”.
Israel has been at war with its neighbors since the beginning.
They seem to be OK with a low-grade war rather than formally declaring war and marching on Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt.
If they don't want to do that, then why should we?
“We” should invade?
You do realize that our present government is likely to be on the OTHER side.
Obama: Israel must negotiate for peace.
Good secondaries are the pilot's reward for flying the mission... Nothing else says "on target" in quite the same way. Bravo, I raise my glass to you. (a little Bourbon)
Oh Lord, my son is working in Beer Sheva now he comes home in 2 weeks.
Instead of taking care of the enemy already invading, in what's a real attempt at seizing lost Mexican territory, we are concerned with a bunch of nations who may be our enemies, but do not have the ability to destroy the United States while Mexico is in the process of doing it, while we call them a friend.
No Islamic nation or terrorist group has killed as many U.S. citizens, or taken over parts of U.S. territory like Mexico has done while our government acts like a puppet regime controlled by them. It's not even comparable in terms of what we are told are our biggest threats. Not to mention if any of those Islamic nations, or terrorist groups, decide to attack inside the U.S. again they could easily invade from the Mexican border and kill a lot of Americans, but they still wouldn't be able to threaten the fall of our nation without a lot of nuclear weapons they don't have, while Mexico is without a doubt going to lead to the loss of parts of our country if not stopped.
We should put the military on our own border instead of getting involved in 10+ year wars our military isn't even allowed to win. We need to take care of this problem before getting involved all around the world in stuff that's not even comparable to the threat our government doesn't even speak of.
We haven't won a war decisively since WW2 because no one wants to have a total war, but instead an unrealistic war where only the bad guys die, and we are willing to sacrifice numerous U.S. troops just to avoid one civilian casualty. If we don't have the ability to accept the horrors of winning a war, no matter how just, then we need to stop having them altogether. Maybe we can't accept it because the wars aren't really that important like WW2, and shouldn't have happened to begin with.
I sure wouldn't have supported the wars, that should have been finished quickly while Bush was still in office, if I knew they were going to have our guys continuously patrol areas to protect an unfriendly government with no real shared goal of the point of what we're gaining by this now. We just deploy them over and over, and have them patrol areas until they finally get hit with an IED.
What good does having the best trained and equipped troops, and most powerful weaponry on earth if we restrict them so bad they aren't used to their full potential by politicians? Our last decisive victory was WW2, against a much more powerful enemy than anything we have faced since. It's not that our military is weak, it's because we can't accept war anymore.
The WW2 guys we call heroes, and our greatest generation, would be called war criminals now for fighting the way they had to fight to achieve victory. A lot of Conservatives contradict themselves on this as well. They won't accept that type of warfare now, but they sure are proud of the WW2 veterans and the way they fought that war. They should be proud of that, and they should see how the restrictions that get worse with each war have changed everything, and extended wars so long we finally just leave after getting a lot of our guys killed, and spending huge amounts of money.
After 9/11 it didn't help the way we talked about was how our nation is so wondrous and peaceful, and we were going to save the innocent people of these nations. That puts even more pressure to fight an impossible war. We are a great nation that doesn't commit the war atrocities that many nations do, but we still have to fight a horrible and brutal war because that's what war is. The mindset of equating all the good we have done in the world, and the fact we're the greatest nation on earth, led us to believe we can conduct the most humane wars that kill terrorist only, and save civilians. Many of those civilians hate us, and support the terrorist. They just don't want to get involved in the action. War is about killing people and destroying infrastructure the enemy needs to conduct war, and civilians get killed, including innocent women and children. Many refuse to accept that, and instead support losing wars. Don't have a war if you can't accept that, and see those innocent lives lost as the responsibility of an enemy who's responsible for the need of war.
We wouldn't have let human shields stop us from targeting important targets in WW2, and we shouldn't now. They wouldn't use them if they didn't stop our bombings. It's so easy for the enemy to use all these things against us now. All any of our enemies need to do these days is hold out until we leave, and they know it. We will always leave overseas wars that don't seem to have any end in site. We are too concerned with the unavoidable toll of civilian death that we do everything we can to lose wars against much weaker enemies. We killed a lot of civilians in WW2, and it was unavoidable to win the war. Those civilian deaths are on the heads of the axis allies that made the war necessary. We would have lost horribly fighting with the restrictions we do today.
The pollen count seems to be getting worse during the Rabtard Spring.
From Libya & Egypt to Israel's border.
Occupation requires scarce resources.
Better to sever water, electricity and gas lines. Better to place the entire Gaza in jeopardy and make the women tremble with fearful thought. Better to disrupt transportation and thus all life
While we should support Israel, the U.S. needs to start using it's own damn oil instead of depending on our enemies for things we have. We protect our oil interest because our nation depends on it for it's survival, which makes our governments refusal to actually mention military action securing something our nation can't survive without annoying.
Here's how it works. For every rocket that lands in Israel the territory it was launched from loses one kilometer of land in the direction of the country it borders. Example: A rocket launched from Gaza results in the border of Gaza being pushed one kilometer closer to Egypt. A rocket launched from the West Bank results in that border being pushed one kilometer closer to Jordan.
The kilometer of territory is then Israeli land forever, no give back under any circumstances.
Eventually the rockets either stop or the residents of the territory involved are shoved back into the country they came from by tanks, rifles, and bayonets.
Anyone who resists is killed.
Either way the rockets stop and Israel wins. It's simple, direct, and right to the point. "Stop shooting at us or lose your territory forever."
Pass that on to Bibi for me. Will you? Thanks.
