MANCHESTER, N.H. Rick Perry gave the crowd tonight at the Cornerstone Action Dinner a peek at a different Rick Perry than the one thats been on display in recent debates and television interviews.
Perry, who has received criticism over his lack of energy in some debates and speeches, adopted a more lively tone as he spoke to the conservative advocacy group, despite having to miss his Texas Rangers play in game seven of the World Series.

As he joked with the crowd of approximately 450 people, Perry compared the slogan of the state of New Hampshire to that of the Alamo.
This is such a cool state, he said. I mean, cmon. Live free or die. You gotta love that right? I come from a state, you know, where they have this little place called the Alamo and they declared, Victory or death. Were kind of into those slogans Live free or die. Victory or death. Bring it.
Perry carried his energetic tone throughout the speech as he touted the new tax plan he unveiled earlier this week. His campaign even distributed at each seat a sample postcard people could use to file their taxes under the proposed 20 percent flat tax system.
I have a great respect for the New Hampshire model, he said. You think about no state income tax, no state sales tax. If you do that right-to-work thing, then you are going somewhere.

I love Herman. Is he the best? I just try to have fun with him. Hes a great and interesting guy. And thank you, Herman, for helping pay for the event tonight.
Herman Cain for President was a gold sponsor for the Cornerstone Action dinner Friday night.

Say w-h-a-t?
And see what The Governor had to say about that... and about other really important things too!
Perry ping please.
Cain got more and better PR from this event, while graciously hosting for his rivals.
A man of good character...
Bumping, for the loyal opposition.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

And Herman got a nice "thank you" from the Gov in return too. :)
Wow!! I am impressed with the depth of Perry’s speech....totally cool...great motto...no state taxes are neat...
This is a revved up speech? I wonder if he got a standing ovation or if folks were just glad it was over to be put out of their misery!
And his remarks about Herman Cain sounded like he was so much more superior than Mr. Cain.
Perry is hopeless or clueless.
C’mon now. Let us be at least a little benevolent in our new front-runner status!
Anita needs a better candidate to work with. Rick is a dud.
shall we start the speculation that Perry is positioning to be Cain’s VP ;-) ?
No Mitt 10/24/2011
Maybe Herman will provide all the pizzas for Perry’s first night in the White House.
;-) back at ‘cha! LOL
And that was very gracious of Gov. Perry.
When it all boils down, ALL of our conservative candidates are wonderful folk and honorable candidates, and I am darn proud to have every one of them in there fighting for a better tomorrow for us all.
Rick did himself some good tonight, even if the Rangers didn’t.
I didn’t see the game, but 6-2 sounds like both teams played hard, hardball.
I agree with NoMitt, and I didn’t join this week.
shall we start the speculation that Perry is positioning to be Cains VP?
