Karl Rove finds the non-Romney candidates unacceptable
Salon.com ^

Rove is very much in a “do I have to do everything myself” mode these days, which is why he’s also running the GOP’s congressional campaign as an independently funded venture. Here he is practically acting as a Romney surrogate on Fox and attacking Herman Cain, because actual Romney surrogates seem unable to.

Oh, dear. No, I was confusing him with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Or not confusing him so much as posting too fast.

I have to laugh every time I hear “The Architect”. Most of the time Hannity is unlistenable and/or unwatchable. The Sean Hannity show would be OK without Sean Hannity.

General Burkhalter:

Rove is a bought and paid for consultant with a portable mattress, a portable red light, and a sack of quarters to make change.

If the GOP cannot do better than another big business whore like Romney, it will deservedly lose in 2012.

But, hey, don't listen to me. Listen to Slick Willard Romney himself and his campaign staff.

First, access on Youtube the video: What Romney Does Not Want Republicans to Hear. About 5 1/2 minutes of film from Romney's pro-abortion, pro-perversion, anti-gun, anti-Reagan past and left of Ted Kennedy past.

Second, Romney's people have a website up called whyromney.com on nearly 20 issues where he has been an enemy of our movement and our country. If you access the site, be sure to bring your barf bag. You will need it if you are conservative as that site rolls out one inane and self-serving excuse after another from the second generation Brainwashed candidate as to is manifest failures on every issue that conservatives care about.

Also note as you read how Mittens is preserving his ability to move sharply leftward once nominated. If he wins, we don't win. Beating Obozo is fine but it is NOT ENOUGH.

Romney can NOT be trusted on babies, guns, marriage, SCOTUS and other federal judge appointments, mythical "man-made" global warming fantasies, cap and trade, federal funding of baby-killing, exporting private sector American jobs, knuckling under to globaloney trade regulations, disarmament schemes, or to keep taxpayers' cash out of the ever ravenous maw of his privileged buddies or on most other important issues.

It is long past time that the conservative candidates on stage (everyone but Romney and Huntsman) decapitated this worthless jackass in GOP drag and let the party move on. Even Ron Paul can participate on issues like economy abuse by the Federal Reserve and Paul can thereby begin to look somewhat vaguely conservative and get some street cred that he presently lacks.

BTW, it is Mittens' hereditary elitism and liberalism that are the problem and not his membership in the Mormon Church. Would you like, however, to imagine what the Carville, Clinton, Begala types in the Demonrat Party will say and do in bashing Mormonism to destroy any credible threat by Slick Willard to Obozo? Their attacks would be shameful and effectively unAmerican and decidedly unfair, but what else is new?

Be honest and concede that what Slick Willard has demonstrated is basically the ability get and hold support from about 25% of self-described (and apparently gullible) GOP voters and the ability to pile up cash from the usual gang of big money social revolutionary materialist mania pigs who want back at the trough under yet another "moderate" GOP windtunnel for more rounds of bailouts on autospend. The lame stream media lusts for Slick Willard to be nominated because he poses no threat whatsoever to Obozo's program and supports most of it and because he is the real father of ObozoCare. His mere nomination would permanently destroy the GOP even if he loses and especially if he wins.

Salon is a left-wing propaganda outlet and if they are giving Rove publicity for his statements, that just proves the left hopes to promote a Romney candidacy and see a repeat of 2008, where Obama, against all odds, wins. Not this time. Even among the more apathetic Republicans and independents, Romney is hardly an attractive candidate. His Wall Street background along with his unrepentant support for the failed RomneyCare scheme in Massachusetts will sink him. He is too slick by far and his flip-flopping has not gone unnoticed. If Beltway operators like the ideology-free Karl Rove have their way, Romney will dutifully lose to Obama and even if he somehow pulled off a win, he would be only slightly better than Obama on most significant issues. No way, José!

The TEA party has basically coalesced around the candidacy of Herman Cain. Yes, many of us were Palin supporters but when she announced she would not run, we went to Cain. Well, I did. Rick Perry was never on my short list. I like Bachmann and Santorum but never saw them as real contenders. Right now, I'm keeping an eye on Newt Gingrich as my 'backup' candidate, should Cain somehow blow it, which I doubt. Newt has many attributes and some negatives but if Cain can't make it, I could vote for Gingrich without holding my nose so tightly that it hurts, as I had to do with John McCain in '08.

I really don't understand the animosity toward Fox News. Granted, they are not, as the liberal media try to claim, the propaganda arm of the Republican party but they do give Republicans a fair shot. No other network does that. None. Yes, they have Karl Rove as a commentator. They also have Sarah Palin. I ignore Rove, Krauthammer et al. and I simply do not see Fox News as the stealth liberal Democrat propaganda outlet a few FReepers seem to think it is. That is tin foil hat stuff. Fox News is not Free Republic but it is a good source of political news, even if the commentary is sometimes less conservative than I might like. It is not a conservative-hating network like MSNBC and all the others. The demand for total conservative 'purity' from an independent cable TV network operated as a profit-making business is simply unrealistic, in my view. I'm glad we have Fox News.

I believe Herman Cain will get a fair hearing on Fox News and that Karl Rove's opinions will have less and less impact as the presidential primary season unfolds. Rove is old news. Hannity may praise Rove but not many others do and if Cain wins the Republican presidential nomination Rove will be forced to either support him (albeit weakly) or just go away because he can't very well keep saying the Republican candidate 'can't win' and not be lambasted with criticism of his appearances on Fox. I suspect that if Cain wins the presidency, Rove will change his tune - but far too late. He'll be on the outside looking in, where he belongs.

Most Palin supporters (not all) waited until she said she was not going to run. Few (if any) had gone to Bachmann, almost none had gone to Perry, frankly most of us don't like him as an alternative. Now that the looking around is complete, most of us have gone to Cain

That is exactly right. Any Palin supporter could tell you that most of us held strong until she told us herself that she wasn't running. The majority of us certainly didn't run off to support another candidate while the question remained open.

Now that she's made her choice, we Palinistas are shifting our support to the next best outsider/reformer (who can also win), which is Herman Cain.

Is Fox that ignorant of what Rove is up to, or are they co-conspirators?

Neither. It's news. Why shouldn't they report it? Or do you prefer to be kept in the dark? Rove's pretty influential. It might be good to know what he's up to.

I find it amusing even Salon notices.

No one needs to attack Cain, his lead will soften if he doesn't sharpen up on message (to avoid confusion) and work on specifics in other areas.

Sadly, yes.

Romney is going to win by default. Just like McCain did. And he just might loose the election because there will be no real choice.

Sorry that I wasn't more specific. With my co-conspirator comment I wasn't referring to that particular clip of Rove, but to the way Fox constantly and endlessly features Rove.

I'm surprised that Fox hasn't yet brought Rove in to pass judgment on the world series or the weather report.

The only thing Rove built was the modern state of the GOP as the tower of babel.

He’s done enough to take the GOP down to a permanent minority status by cleansing all ideas for conservative reform and leadership from the party.

Rove is the one who thought it beneath him to defend President Bush against the onslaught of leftist lies we endured and that brought a communist into the White House.
