Greeks have launched a wave of civil disobedience against the embattled government's austerity measures designed to appease international creditors, which provided rescue loans to the country.
The latest example of rebellion is the Athens municipality of Nea Ionia, where authorities are urging people not to pay a much reviled new property tax being charged through electricity bills.
"Our constituents can't pay, they don't have the ability to," Nea Ionia mayor Iraklis Gotsis said. "We consider the new tax to be illegal. But in essence, the truth is our people just can't pay."

this attempt to keep Greece in line to keep the Euro together is the most futile thing I’ve ever seen

If a 50% haircut doesn’t do it for the Greeks, then the entire country needs to go “skinhead.”

The ship is going down and instead of patching up the holes, they want a bigger buffet to choose from - last meal more important than survival.
Of course, they have been programmed as Socialists and cannot comprehend that they might actually be left out in the cold...

The chances of a coup are rising. If there is enough civil unrest, there will be military action and Merkel and Sarkozy will be “shocked.”

Greeks want the milk to flow as in the past....they were indeed a blight on the Euro from the get go and the leadership knew this would come for concerns Greeks would not pull their own weight. It’s simply playing out as was expected. Same with Spain and Italy....they knew these nations would be a risk...and they are certainly playing out as predicted.

Yesterday’s news that they had come to an agreement was comical. It was like a car dealership and customer dealing on a new car. The dealer is charging $50,000 and the customer is willing to pay $10,000. Neither has moved in price, BUT WE CAN ANNOUNCE A DECISION: They’ve decided on a color.
Oops, but the guy goes back home to Greece and the wife doesn’t like the color, so we have rioting.
Nothing was accomplished. It was rope a dope for the press.

We consider the new tax to be illegal. But in essence, the truth is our people just can't payDeduct it from their government paychecks before they receive it. Problem solved.
Seriously, the rest of the world just absorbed $8,863 per living soul in Greece. We'd like to stop hearing about how you can't afford things. Skip that bottle of wine and maybe, just maybe, start working for a living.

The end result of “Gimme gimme gimme and make someone else pay for it.” The people with their hands out go wild when you tell them there’s no money left. I’d say this was how all Ponzi schemes end but the people left holding the bag in Ponzi schemes are true victims. These leeches are just a mob legally stealing from the productive and industrious segment of society. If they can’t do it legally, now they’ll start a civil war and literally take what they want until the whole country is back in the stone age.

Amazing how many people are totally unaware of the history of Argentina (even though they make award-winning musicals about it)

Government spending must be drastically cut.

Wait! I'm confused here. Yesterday, it was announced that a decision was made that save Greece and the Euro. Stock Markets around the world skyrocketed, children were singing, and I swear I saw a Unicorn!
Now you're saying that there may still be problems???

Yes. There’s a problem coming our way. We in the US have a debt that is now over 100% of GDP. Not good news for the dollar in the near future.

A full 40% of the Greek population is on the Gov’t payroll.
The US State of Ohio is about the same physical size of Greece - and Ohio has a large GDP and on only 15% of the residents of Ohio are on the Gov’t payroll.
They are doomed. Capital has been flying out of the country and out of the banks.
