..A "park ranger" approached him and informed him his boat registration number was not properly displayed, [W. Mitt Romney] said. The ranger ordered him to keep the boat out of the water or receive a ticket.
Romney said he returned to his wife, who urged him to pay the ticket. As he attempted to launch the boat, Romney said the ranger informed him he was under arrest and placed him in handcuffs.
"The ranger came over and was very upset," Romney said. "I expected him to give me a ticket. He was not happy I launched my boat." Romney said he was taken in his bathing suit to the Natick police station, and released on his own recognizance...

Why don’t he run as a Libertarian then?
Hmm. Very interesting. Needs to be revived and given more mileage. Good find.
Now all we need is a killer rabbit to top it off.
Romney is a putz. Such people do not accept that the laws everyone else must follow also applies to him.
Hmm...this sounds exactly like something the putz in the White House would do, too.
A two-bit statist arrests a blueblood statist.
How ironic.
Wow... this is hilarious. I am surprised that this wasn’t made public during his last run.
Wow! What an earthshaking story sure to destroy the man. Good work, sleuth. You need to phone Rick Perry and bring this to his attention pronto. Have fun.
I wonder if he said, “Do you know who I am??”
I’m not a Romney supporter (Go Cain!) but if the ranger said he’d get a ticket, & his wife said “we’ll just pay the ticket”, then I’m not surprised he went ahead & started to launch the boat.
I am REALLY sick to death of the cops, TSA, park rangers, etc., who act like they are in charge of us all & we have to do what they say. He was arrested because the registration decal wasn’t displayed the way the park ranger wanted? Too d*mn bad!
Yes, I have a problem with authority these days, too.
Oh, I dunno. Consider who he was up against.
In ascending order the three vilest, most despicable and foul classes ever to walk the face of the Earth are:
- Incurable lepers.
- Park rangers
- Curable lepers
“I’m still looking for more info on this, but it seems Mittens has a problem with authority.”
When you are practicing to be a god of your own planet you are the authority and can do whatever you want!
He should have berthed his boat in Rhode Island.
My sentiments too. See my post #5.
Well this is interesting, if true. The disorderly conduct charge was only dropped after Mittens threatened to sue the state.

I guess he was just using those deep pockets and lawyers.. He also apparently fought to have the file sealed.
Hmm.. makes you wonder what else is in it. Now I really need to dig.. maybe a FOIA request.
Did Mittens just get ‘swift-boated’ with his own boat ?

You’re being too kind.
The link has another wild story.
Which cbsnews.com ran on their website Feb 2010.
Romney got caught in a traffic jam on the way to the Olympics
and became irate,
screaming at the traffic cops.
“The traffic volunteer Shaun Knopp stated that ROMNEY “asked me who the f___ I was
and what the f___ I was doing.
We got the Olympics going on we don’t need this s___ down here.”
“....... ROMNEY denied part of the allegation, insisting he hadn’t used the F-word since high school —
but admitted he used a word
he described as “H-E-double hockey sticks.”
Disposition: The Utah Department of Safety advised it had decided against initiating a “profanity probe.”
You found the first news story that I like Romney for. The park ranger sounds like a d-bag to me.

You only got Mitt’s side of the story. And the minute a story-teller accuses the other person involved of being “upset”, LEOS do it it too, I get suspicious of the story teller who is trying to make the other person look bad.
He arrested him for putting his boat in the water with an improperly displayed boat registration. The horror.
