The other day I pulled into the drive thru at a McDonalds. In front of me was a white Yukon with “POLICE” in large blue letters across the tailgate. It had a US Government license plate.
I began to wonder about this. I could see there police-type lights mounted on the roof, but I couldn’t see anything else. I became more curious and pulled out of line so I could pass the vehicle on the right and get a better look at it.
On the post between the back door and the back side window there was a brown shield sticker on it that had DHS printed on it. As I pulled further forward I could see that on the passenger door was printed, “Department of Homeland Security.” But what really threw me was the “Federal Police” printed on the side of the hood.
Federal Police? What the Hell?

Yeah, Federal Police are charged with protecting some Federal facilities. You were probably seeing a supervisors vehicle, they have to make rounds to check their posts.

A spotless black Tundra, with a chain link fence behind the back of the front seats. I walked around the vehicle, the entire back of the vehicle was a cage, with cushy seats. Not a prison van, this was something else. Black glass and very expensive.
