EXCLUSIVE: ACORN Playing Behind Scenes Role in 'Occupy' Movement
By Jana Winter

The former New York office for ACORN, the disbanded community activist group, is playing a key role in the self-proclaimed leaderless Occupy Wall Street movement, organizing guerrilla protest events and hiring door-to-door canvassers to collect money under the banner of various causes while spending it on protest-related activities, sources tell FoxNews.com.
The former director of New York ACORN, Jon Kest, and his top aides are now busy working at protest events for New York Communities for Change (NYCC). That organization was created in late 2009 when some ACORN offices disbanded and reorganized under new names after undercover video exposes prompted Congress to cut off federal funds.
NYCCs connection to ACORN isnt a tenuous one: It works from the former ACORN offices in Brooklyn, uses old ACORN office stationery, employs much of the old ACORN staff and, according to several sources, engages in some of the old organizations controversial techniques to raise money, interest and awareness for the protests.
Sources said NYCC has hired about 100 former ACORN-affiliated staff members from other cities paying some of them $100 a day - to attend and support Occupy Wall Street. Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour, the sources said.

Sure. They’re leaderless. So are the Israeli tent city protests, which aren’t political at all at all at all. It’s all just spontaneous and grassy-rootsy-tootsy, unlike those TEA parties that came before them.
Unexpected! /s
The ACORN and the OWS crowds (pretty much the same people) should be tossed in jail for fraud, theft and just plain stupidity.

Finally, Obamas economic job policies are starting to kick in!
Is this “Trickle Down Your Leg” economics.
And the Starbucks and McDonald's across from Zuccotti Park are doing a booming business.
Great economic strategy, Obie! < /s>
The term “homeless problem” disappeared from the MSM in Jan 09.
That’s when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the earth began to heal......
The Craigslist.org ad was ONLY $8.50 an hour ...
Maybe that didn’t include tips.
I’m sure the happy residents of adjacent housing are more than happy to slip a fiver to them occasionally. /S
ACORN just morphed into AHCOA.
They’re still out there.
Wonder if NYSlimes and NPR will report it...
So , since they are out there , wearing another ‘sheeps’ clothing’ and there is money that has been ordered to be repaid to the government , I am assuming that since the organizational name change (with the same exact structure and officers) , cant they go after themfor the repayment ?
Or would it be Holders job ?

Billionaire business mogul Penny Pritzker is a member of one of Americas richest families and was the Finance Chair for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. It was Pritzker that led the prolific, and illegal, fundraising that helped power Barack Obamas presidential campaign. She was the chair of Chicago-based Superior Banks board for five years. Pritzker was into subprime lending before it became all the rage starting in around 2000. Prtizker's chairmanship was to concentrate on sub prime lending, principally on home mortgages, but for a while in subprime auto lending, too, after the Pritzkers' bank acquired its wholesale mortgage organization division, Alliance Funding, in December 1992. Superior Bank went belly up in 2001 with over $1 billion in insured and uninsured deposits; 1,406 depositors lost much of their life savings. This collapse came amid harsh criticism of how Superiors owners promoted sub-prime home mortgages. |

This is getting interesting. One can imagine this taking the form of an “Occupy the Polling Places” movement a year from now, if it becomes apparent that Obama’s fat cat money can’t buy him enough votes.
Obamanomics created these jobs.
$100/day, $10/hr???
Why isn’t it $200/day, $20/hr???
Hypocrites.
They morphed into a ton of different things. I had thought COIE was one of them, but I can’t find the info right now (perhaps the wrong acronym).
Anyway, there is some really good info here: http://theeprovocateur.blogspot.com/2010/04/issa-report-acorn-rebranding.html
Open the first link in that entry and you’ll see the report: http://republicans.oversight.house.gov/images/stories/Reports/20100401ACORNreport.pdf
There are tables that show what each acorn chapter that re-branded has morphed into by state.
Here it is: ACORN is now COI...
