A retired heart surgeon saved the life of a police officer with just three minutes to spare after he had been stabbed in the throat by a crazed knifeman. Samad Tadjkarimi stemmed the flow of blood with his bare hands after finding Pc Paul Madden bleeding to death in the street.
The officer was attacked by career criminal John Onyenaychi near a bus stop in Ealing last December. Mr Tadjkarimi, 65, was returning from Christmas shopping when he saw the 23-year-old officer with 'horrendous injuries' which medics say would have killed him within the next three minutes.
Mr Tadjkarimi said: 'I noticed an officer lying on the pavement lots of blood on the right side of his neck. I compressed his neck, holding it.
'Although he looked pale, obviously due to the volume of blood lost, he was calm. I reassured him that he would be fine and the ambulance would be there any second.'

Good man, this Dr. Tadjkarimi. Well done, sir.
Why are career criminals stil alive. How LUCKY that the doctor was nearby to help the police officer.
Indeed. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
As to the criminal, Mr. Onyenaychi, perhaps a necktie party is in order. Seems like he has a rather long criminal history, and this is certainly not his first assault with a deadly weapon/attempted murder.
Barring the death penalty, which the UK doesn’t have, Mr. Onyenaychi really should be locked up until the day he dies. Period. End of story.
I am grateful that the two heroes survived, but I must confess that my first thought upon reading the story was what happened to people named “Smith”, “Jones”, “Brown”, “Williams”, or even the Dr. that delivered me 59.5 years ago, “Zeigler”?
Why? ACLU. That’s why.
PUh-leeze, the UK has the softest prison system, second only to the Netherlands.
This clown pulls this around here and I can almost guarantee you he would be room temperature in the flash of an eye. I really don’t know, nor do I want to know, any Police Officers who walk around un-armed. I guess the UK simply does not care.
Unfortunately, in the UK, the most likely outcome will be that John Onyenaychi files charges against Pc Paul Madden and that Madden is found guilty.
“I guess the UK simply does not care.”
Forgive me for saying this, but everyone in the UK is so determined to be ‘upstairs’ and not get their hands dirty that their entire country will sink under the building muck that is their culture and citizenry. After they were cruel enough to bash us for being happy over the death of OBL and they have looked down on us pretty much since we struck out on our own. I daresay that they actually COMPLAIN about how they have Eastern Europeans coming to their country to WORK. I mean really, they look down on everyone who isn’t English. As fo late I’ve become really disillusioned about our vaunted ‘special friendship’ and it makes me wonder if there even should be an alliance with them anymore.
In all likelihood, being that this is Britain, the victim will be arrested for having his neck in the way of the other man’s knife.
