Businessman Herman Cain is now atop the field of Republican White House hopefuls, squeaking past former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll.

Cain garnered 25 percent support of Republican primary voters in the poll released Tuesday, compared to Romney's 21 percent.

In early October, the two men were tied at 17 percent.

Seems suspicious. Why would these Marxists release a poll showing Cain on top?

Hmmm... I'll take a stab at it... how about, because Cain's on top?

It is a two-man race, Cain and Romney.

Karl Rove has gone all in for Romney and is attempting to destroy Cain on the so-called gaffe problem

I have never seen a candidate vaporize as quickly as Rick Perry has. Stick a fork in him . .

But he has so much money he can stay in the race as long as he pleases.

“The race is still open, as voters are not firm in their support of any of the candidates. About four of five voters said it is too early to say for sure who they support for the nomination, with just 19 percent saying their minds are already made up. That’s about the same as it was at this point in 2007.”

Hummm...

What???

Rove and Hume just yesterday assured us that Cain is crashing. Rove even specifically said that Cain had peaked between 10/6 and 10/10 and is now tanking in the polls.

What gives?

This is a poll asking mostly non-Republicans who should win the Republican nomination.

Businessman Herman Cain is now atop the field of Republican White House hopefuls, squeaking past former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll.

4% which is outside the margin of error, is now squeaking by.

They were tied at 17% and Herman went up 8% and romney went up 4%, so Herman doubled his new support.

"Milt Romney's tumble in latest CBS/NYT poll to Mr. Cain,
and Romney's recent collapsing loss to Mr Cain
in the 2012 Iowa Republican Caucus (Cain 28% Romney 21%)

means as little as Romney's plummeting career-ending loss to Mr. Cain
in the Newsmax poll (71% to 7% for Myth)
,
or Milt's shocking loss to Herman Cain in the PPP poll ,
or Milt's incredible 3 to 1 devastating loss to Herman Cain in Florida
or Romney's third place hopeless loss to Mr. Cain in the Presidential Straw Poll
of National Federation of Republican Women, or
even Romney's humiliating loss to Mr. Cain
in the October Newsmax/InsiderAdvantage poll,
or Romney's exsanguinating loss to Cain in the
Midwest Leadership Conference Straw Poll.
At the end of the the day, this will not matter to FOX News.
Never. No way. We are biased by the individuals we pimp.
From the desks of McGinniss and Ailes,
we at FOX News will continue to push
our Milt Romney on you as THE "leading candidate"
… even when you know it is obviously not true.

The best part of the poll is that Romney’s support has dropped significantly from other recent polls taken, which has (or will) put Cain as the clear leader on RCP (when they update with these new numbers)

This is a poll asking mostly non-Republicans who should win the Republican nomination.

And that raises an interesting point...Romney was supposed to be the most popular candidate with non-Republicans and this poll indicates that Cain is their favorite.

From the article:

1,475 interviews were conducted among registered voters and 455 voters who said they plan to vote in a Republican primary. The margin of error among primary voters is plus or minus four percentage points.

So basically, Cain and Romney are statistically tied when polling a sample of voters weighted with non-Republicans who were asked "who do you think Republicans will vote for?".

Means absolutely nothing.

Either the people interpreting the poll are incompetent or there is an ulterior motive for making Cain look strong.

It won't stop C.B.S., A.P., Reuters, MSNBC and others from referring to Romney as the "front runner".

I just noticed that also, among just the tea party respondents the numbers were even more devastating for Romney, it was Cain 32, Romney 18.

Which means Cain is WAY ahead among all groups.
