That may be the modeling program itself or the code. I doubt something that's not much larger than the Empire State Building could effect the Earth's orbit at all. Which is why I view the theory of having satellites slightly shift the orbits of objects to be preposterous. I don't see how a sat can have enough gravity to do that without using thrusters. And in their model videos the satellite never touches the object.

I noticed it too but discounted my observation because the article says the asteriod won't even affect tides.
