Karl Rove: The Herman Cain Boomlet Is Over (Says his Gaffes are Deadly)
Business Insider ^ | 10/24/2011 | Zeke Miller

Posted on 10/24/2011 7:44:07 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

GOP strategist and former Bush advisor Karl Rove laid out all the reasons why he believes Herman Cain's presidential campaign is finished.

In an interview with Fox Business, Rove listed several of Cain's recent gaffes — and policy positions that are out of line with many GOP voters — to show why the Cain boomlet won't continue.

"I think it has created an image of him as not being up to this task," he said. "That’s really deadly."

Despite the missteps, Cain's fundraising topped his third quarter numbers in just three weeks — with the campaign raising over $3 million since October 1.

The one thing I will say about Rove is that whoever is the Republican candidate will be getting a load of money from Rove’s group to help combat Barry's billion. We all know KR is pulling for Romney though.

Just remember, American voters, this is the same Karl Rove did a negative burst on a number of tea party senate candidates that, had they won, both the house and senate would be under control of the Republican Party. I’ll stick with Cain, its the Pubbie establishment, including Karl Rove that must go!!!

If Karl Rove doesn’t like Herman Cain - I like Cain even MORE!

Karl Rove did not help George W. Bush overcome his gaffes and if truth be told, was a millstone around his neck.

Rove should have taken Newt’s approach on how to handle the liberal media - when GW was being burned at the stake.

Rove can’t let go of his (fading) celebrity status...even if it means 4 more years of BO.

In other words he has to lie like a RINO. At least this man speaks what is honestly on his mind and politics be damned. Very refreshing and I think America will appreciate it.

Gee, I keep hearing this.

It’s almost like some people’s comfort zones are being threatened by Mr. Cain.

Hey, Karl, why don’t you take a long walk off of a short pier, kthx.

>>> Mr. Porky Pig.

Childish name calling doesn’t rebut Rove’s thesis.

Yet more establishment panic. Unreal. These guys are genuinely scared of an outsider.

This is true, which is the only reason we can’t just ignore him. He would do us all a favor if he would raise the money and infuse it and not give any advice. His advice sunk GWB (ok, it was Bush’s fault for following it, but you get the idea).

Give it another month or so to see if Rove’s wrong.

IA, NH, NV, SC and FL have moved their primaries to January.

We will probably see the race solidified by Super Tuesday [March 6].

My state's primary is in late May. By then, the race will probably have been over by months.

It wasn't deadly enough to keep your guy from getting elected President, was it Karl?

Here at FR this is call “wishful thinking” or, more accurately, “Rove wishful thinking”.

It may be true that Cain has peaked but somehow I doubt it. His major competitor, the RINO from MA, has a lot of money and the solid support of 25% of Republicans that are likely to vote in the primaries. The other 75% support actual conservatives. Most of those conservatives will fall away as we proceed through the primary season.

Does anyone believe that those votes will flow to a RINO? Not me.

Karl...

Consider retiring and one of the following hobbies...

* tying flies for fly fishing
* Restore an old car, don't sniff the paint fumes...
* Furniture restoration or new from scratch.

In honor of our founding fathers, it is time for you to go back to the plow....
