In GOP race, how much electability matters may depend on ‘beatability’ of Obama
Washington Post ^ | October 23, 2011 | Chris Cillizza

Winning in politics isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.

But how important a factor electability should be in a voter’s calculation remains very much in the eye of the beholder, leading to an active debate within the parties about who has the best chance to win next November — and how much it should matter.

That fight is played out every four years as the two parties pick their presidential nominees. The party establishment — and many members of the media — tend to focus heavily on electability while the party’s activist base prizes ideological alignment.

“Electability usually doesn’t matter to Republicans,” said Alex Castellanos, a senior Republican strategist. “All of us consultants can cite limitless examples of campaigns wrecked on the shoals of that false light.”

Push polls by Ron Paul organizations and 70 percent of the people don't like the frontrunner. There is still 2 months before Iowa and plenty of room for movement.

Watch the coming weeks for a poll shift. Perry will be moving slowly back up.

oh ! that makes more sense :)

In fact, I got the guillotine gate from Hickbuilt.com in Texas. Saved a lot of time compared to welding up one of my own.

That's a pig trap in the photo, not a dog pen.

Dax is a KNPV line Dutch Shepherd. She is very smart and can indeed jump. Dax loves my 4WD Dodge Power Wagon and thinks its hers. At six months, she jumped from downhill through the open cab window. She grabbed the key in her teeth and tried to steal the truck. Fortunately, she pulled it out instead of turning it. It was in gear next atop a gulch. It's a good thing she blew it or both she and the truck would be dead.

Dax, for President! Why elect a bitch like Hillary! when you can have the real thing!!!

“Obama cannot be reelected ....”

You are being dangerously overconfident. Obama’s floor is 45%. A chunk of those who dissaprove of him will vote for him anyway.

If the economy improves ever so slightly, Obama will have better than even odds of being re-elected.

Ah yes, dogs and cars. I left mine in the car to go to a convenience store. While waiting in line to checkout, we heard a repeated car horn honking...sure enough, he was sitting in the driver’s seat.

Good thing I took the keys ;-). All I had was noseprints on the windshield.

Obama will win unless a strong Republican candidate emerges or the economy crumbles much more. Incumbents are difficult to beat even in a difficult economy. Obama will outspend his opponent by a substantial amount. A majority or near majority of voters are substantially dependent on government. Obama can count on the support of most the free loaders. Obama does not need to campaign in many major states including California, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Illinois. He likely will win comfortably in other states such as New Jersey, Delaware, Conneticut, Washington State, Rhode Island, Oregon, and Vermont. Obama's math is relatively easy. He needs just a handful of swing states. Obama will be difficult to beat in Colorado as the economy is stronger than most states. Colorado receives a good deal of federal largesse.

I'm sure that Obama didn't say these things to LaRaza:

VIDEO of Gov. Perry's speech:

Gov Rick Perry spoke to LaRaza about the drug cartels, shared responsibility of border security and that it is Washington's responsibility to secure the border -- that the Federal government should support the military, deliver the mail and secure the border -- and they aren't doing their job. [HE RECEIVED a lot of applause] He spoke of the money Texas spends securing the border, that it must be sealed and then we can sustain legitimate commerce...He told about protecting the sanctity of the vote and strengthening our shared values, family, faith hard work -- they are TEXAS values and we should unite as citizen's of one Nation under God and concentrate on what unites us. He told his Cuervo joke and they found it funny unlike the Liberal Latino Leaders Give Perry Lukewarm Response (or more likely they'd heard it before)
