Autopsy: Qaddafi was killed by shot to head (Obama and NATO complicit in real war crimes)
cbs ^ | 10/23/2011 | ap

An autopsy confirmed that Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi died from a gunshot to the head, the country's chief pathologist said Sunday, just hours before Libya's new leaders were to declare liberation and a formal end to an eight-month civil war to topple the longtime ruler's regime.

The declaration starts the clock on a transition to democracy that is fraught with uncertainty and could take up to two years.

However, international concern about the circumstances of Qaddafi's death and indecision over what to do with his remains overshadowed what was to be a joyful day. Qaddafi's body has been on public display in a commercial freezer in a shopping center in the port city of Misrata, which suffered from a bloody siege by regime forces during the spring.

The same law that they tried to hold Bush to even after Saddam got a fair trial, appeal and then executed.

Yes they were, in the 1949 updating of the three previous Geneva Convention treaties.

>>Libya is not part of this country.<<

Really? Are you sure?

How would you feel if our troops routinely popped wounded prisoners in the head?

(a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture; (b) taking of hostages; (c) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment (d) the passing of sentences and the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court, affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples.

Geneva #4, 1949.

I see where the leadership of the insurgents have already declared that Libya will be governed by Sharia law. Way to go Obama.

Barbarians in thrall to their savage god are NOT our troops.

So now FR posters are worried what the UN thinks? Give me a break. The UN is and was a fig leaf for US power projection. It's why we made the damn thing and HQed it in our country.

It would not surprise me if some of the people cheering loudly when Rick Perry trotted out Ron Paul's old ideas about defunding the UN are some of the same people bitching about whether we violated a UN mandate.

*Standing Ovation*

This whole thing makes me sick. And I can’t even read further about it because I’m physically sickened by the pictures. Maybe Libyans (lol my spell checker wanted to change that to Liberals) like to see those macabre images, but many Americans do not.

Hillary’s cackling, “We came. We saw. He died,” not only suggests credit claimed by the USA in this gruesome murder, it also suggests we’re laughing about it.

I’m glad he’s gone, but those people are damn barbarians. I wish my country stayed the heck out of that crap. Nobel Peace Prize indeed. *rolls eyes*

Sure thing and if we didn't subscribe to the UN or Geneva Convention then Obama and NATO wouldn't have violated international law but unlucky for them, we are members.

What authority do you believe the “united nations” has, and where do you believe it derives from?

Do you believe the “united nations” has ANY authority to require the People of the United States, or their representatives, to do or not do, anything?

Some of the libertarian principles at FR are on display here in this thread.

The man met a fitting end, I couldn’t care less if I tried about how it happened.

So the German general did not commit a crime

Well, murder was illegal in Italy in 1944, so I suppose he did commit several crimes.

As far as the Military Tribunal, the good General pissed us off, which was reason enough for what we did to him.

Hillary Clinton laughs about Gaddafi's death

The US Secretary of State looked happy. She and the CBS reporter laughed about the death of the Libyan dictator. She paraphrased a well-known phrase by Julius Caesar and said: "We came, we saw, he died!"

from related article at source

Earlier, Hillary made a public appearance in Libya, a few days prior to Gaddafi's death

.."We hope he can be captured or killed soon so that you don't have to fear him any longer."

Advocating that someone, especially a world leader, be killed is at the very least the epitome of bad diplomacy. Especially considering her position and the actions of her country. It is also a violation of international law and norms.

>>Libya is not part of this country.<< Really? Are you sure?

Yes, I did very well in both Geography and Civics.

The Judicial Power of the United States is defined in Article III of the United States Constitution, and the procedure for admitting new states is defined in Article IV, section 3.

I'm pretty sure that Libya, and the transgressions of the savages who live there, are not included.

Qaddafi is dead. He deserved it. No sane person could possibly think otherwise.

The people that killed him, loved him back when he was killing Americans......to them he had simply outlived his usefulness. It basically was a Mafia killing, one group of thugs killing another. "It was real greaseball s--t!"

What part of geneva convention do you not understand. If you wish to change it that is your problem, otherwise for the rest of us it is the law. It is a legal buinding agreement.
