Former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who left office in disgrace after a highly publicized affair with his Argentine mistress, has joined the Fox News Channel as a paid contributor.
Sanford famously told staffers and the press that he was hiking the Appalachian trial in June 2009 when he was in fact visiting his mistress, Maria Belen Chapur, in Argentina.

good for Sanford. hope he is getting his life together. we all make mistakes in life.
I mean, after they get run out of politics.
What he did wasn't a 'mistake', what he did was wrong.
For Larry Flynt?
Should he be publishing poems like a Modern Day Khalil Gibrahn?
Will he be doing his commentaries from Argentina?
well, of course. But as Jesus said when those guys were mocking Mary M. for being a prostitute
“he who is without sin cast the first stone”
Yes what he did was a disgrace. I can’t imagine doing that to my wife. its disgusting. but you know what ? Jesus walked among some filthly characters and some of them became his disciples. A 2nd chance is a good thing.
True, but he didn’t leave an entire state in the lurch, either.
WHY would Fox News think this is a good idea? Sanfords press conference at the time was embarrasing and cringe worthy. Seriously, they couldn’t find anyone better to be a contributor??
Yup, and he’s paying taxes too.
The state of South Carolina was not "left in the lurch". Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but the state does not need the governor's minute to minute, hands on attention.
Leaving the country to screw your girlfriend and having your staff lie to the press and public (and, oh yeah, your wife) about it is arguably exactly that.
“...the state does not need the governor’s minute to minute, hands on attention.”
That may be true, but the gov. is the elected chief executive of a state, shouldn’t his whereabouts be known at all times, at least to his staff?
I think what this man did was a complete disgrace.
It’s only 4 years, if you can’t do the time, don’t run for office.
What will they call his segment? “Hiking the appalachian trail?”
oh yeah, such great moral authority.
“Former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who left office in disgrace after a highly publicized affair with his Argentine mistress, has joined the Fox News Channel as a paid contributor.”
Screw him. He should be sweeping out stalls with the Silky Pony for a living.
Enough to make me turn off the TV altogether!
EEEEEWWWWW!!
FOX is not a conservative news organization anyways.
“FOX is not a conservative news organization anyways.”
That may be true, but they are the tallest pygmy in the village.
