It's thought he had cancer, and his death leaves a big hole in the line of succession to be King.

I wonder what this will mean for the stability of Saudi Arabia? How will this impact the region?

With the King approaching 90, this could set up a power struggle between Prince Bandar, and Prince Khalid.
While both are America-philes, both have been out of favor in recent years, for one reason or another. Murky waters ahead, it seems.

Um, there is no shortage of princes in the House of Saud. I’m sure someone will step forward and occupy the ‘vacancy.’

Succession will very much a family decision. King will have great input, but there will be much family consultation.

With all the money in the world available to him he came to New York for medical treatment.
The 83-year-old, who was heir to the Saudi throne, had suffered various health issues in recent years and had been treated for cancer at a New York hospital in 2009.
According to the BBC he is believed to have been in New York City when he passed away yesterday.
A separate report said his plane was preparing to leave JFK airport to take the body home.

Sounds like 0dumb0 needs to pay homage & take another bow to the muzzie king of Saudi Arabia just to remain on the muzzies good side.

“King”, “Prince”, “Crown”. LOLOL! These fat doofuses were just camel jockeys when the U.S. hand picked them to preside over the oil empire we made possible. There is no “royalty” there. What a sick joke on the world.
