How can anyone be so stupid as to believe in communism? The former communist countries have all rejected it. Who’s their hero, Kim Jong-Il?
I was just in Central Europe and passed through some formerly communist countries. Some have recovered, but in some, you could still get the sense of a sort of dull timidity among the populace. That is, they always seemed to be waiting for permission to live, to smile, to interact.
They also seemed to have a fondness for 2-watt light bulbs...everything was very shadowy once you got outside of the fancier parts of town. I walked past stores that I thought were closed until suddenly I realized that there were shoppers coming and going, and it was simply that their lighting level was so low that they appeared to be closed. I guess that’s what Obama wants for us, too.
But then again, that’s what state control does to human beings.
