Source: ABC Reporter’s Life Allegedly Threatened at Occupy Oakland; ‘We Shoot White Bitches Like You Around Here’
Early yesterday morning, we received a tip from a reader in the San Francisco East Bay area who informed us that a local reporter’s life had been threatened by an activist at the Occupy Oakland demonstration.
Our source, who is fearful of reprisal and has requested anonymity, says that KGO-TV’s Amy Hollyfield was accosted by a man who threatened her and used a racial slur:
“We shoot white bitches like you around here.”
According to our source, the Oakland Police Department was apparently called to the scene. Inquiries to the police, and to Hollyfield, which began at roughly 8 a.m. Pacific time yesterday, are still unanswered today.

If someone at a Tea Party gathering had said something like this to a reporter, they would be sitting in jail right now.

The two worst things for race relations were the death of MLK and the election of that man. MLK was all about integration, excellence, and colorblindness. Post-MLK was busing, set-asides and race-based quotas, and affirmative action. And forty more years of hate. On their part.

Former heads of the Black Panthers Party are speaking at Occupy Oakland right now in front of an audience of at least a couple of hundred. David Hilliard, former chief of staff of the party, gave a rousing speech about organizing. Former party members will also speak at Laney College tomorrow afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. to talk about their 10 point organizing principles.
“I bet Huey Newton is smiling on us right now,” said a young man who took the microphone, before reading out the ten points, including housing, education, health care for black, poor and oppressed people, an end to police brutality, an end to wars of aggression and several others.
A woman in the crowd stood silently with her fist raised in the classic Black Panther pose.
“I believe us here today is the same reason this country got founded,” said the man.

Who’s interest does the president actually have anyway? The entire country? I think not.
We want power to determine the destiny of our black and oppressed communities’ education that teaches us our true history and our role in the present day society.
We want completely free health care for all black and oppressed people.
We want an immediate end to police brutality and murder of black people, other people of color, and all oppressed people inside the United States.
We want an immediate end to all wars of aggression.
We want full employment for our people.
We want an end to the robbery by the capitalists of our Black Community.
We want decent housing, fit for the shelter of human beings.
We want decent education for our people that exposes the true nature of this decadent American society.
We want freedom for all black and oppressed people now held in U. S. Federal, state, county, city and military prisons and jails. We want trials by a jury of peers for all persons charged with so-called crimes under the laws of this country.
We want land, bread, housing, education, clothing, justice, peace and people’s community control of modern technology
