Making a mature, thoughtful decision to leave the party of irresponsible thieves and join the party of responsible Americans? That is misleading? Hardly. What's misleading is Mittens' style flip-flopping, or calling Romneycare something that it plainly isn't; but switching political parties because you no longer believe that the democrat party represents the real interest of ordinary Americans? You must have hated Ronald Reagan then.

Forget it. Reagan was an FDR Democrat. And became the champion of conservatism.

Perry never denied or obfuscated the fact he was a Democrat 22 years ago. It was Mitt who mislead saying Perry was Al Gore's Texas campaign head or that he was for amnesty. Mitt outright lied.

Reagan did.

It is NOT that unusual in the southern states. Reagan got elected because of the southern 'Reagan Democrats'. Many of those Reagan Democrats have since changed parties, because the Republican party represents their philosophy more than the Democratic party, which has become leftist and liberal.

Just look at the number of state legislators who have changed from Dem to GOP in the last 2 decades.

The Democratic party of JFK was more conservative than even the GOP today. Parties change over the years.
