Isn't America great?
And he was a great businessman as well as patriot.
But they managed to make him out as a crazy weirdo.
He was a genius. Who else could outsource jobs to Mexico, and get away with claiming he’s against it?
Its about unlimited cheap labor. It will put more Americans out of work and drive down the wages of the rest (truck drivers).
Then then wonder why their is no recovery.
Mexican truckers are bad and evil, mean, dirty and nasty. Why, they are the downfall of the USA.
Meanwhile, bringing H1-B Visa engineers in from China, India and Tiawan are good, righteous, hard-working, industrious and the fact that this drives down the income of taxpaying Engineers of American citizens is just ‘racist’ thinking.
Funny, on one hand it’s ok to do this; while doing the exact same thing to another group is evil.
When I find myself agreeing with the teamsters, it is a very unusual situation, indeed. My reasons are motivated more by public safety concerns than monopoly control of shipping.
Well I wouldn’t want to be that guy. The Teamsters have ways of....umm....dealing with such things.
And the appeals to emotion? Look at my photos! LOL
Make sure your insurance is paid in full.
Make sure that you are carrying UNINSURED Motorist insurance. Mine costs me more than 37% of my premiums. I don’t drink. Don’t smoke. Have not had a ticket since 1980. Have not had an accident since 1965. Insurance is bundled with all house & property insurance, also. O have all the discounts available & I still pay alot for UNINSURED Motorists. N Nevada. Rural
All things being equal, I might agree with you. But, they aren't--will these trucks and drivers undergo the same rigor of inspection and training that American drivers do, or will they be able to cut costs in the name of political correctness? Just as important is the fact that American drivers don't feel safe driving in Mexico, even if the laws become symmetric. Will they be subject to bribe-driven inspections? Will the police be able to protect them from organized gangs of hijackers? (We have some of these problems, but to a much lesser degree).
*Note that the Teamster-predicted carnage never ensued.
Illegals smile and look for their largest plastic bag for packing.
All hell breaks loose if one of these rolling heaps brings in a bomb....
Without effective border security, we will never know about it until after it happens. With a bit of planning there could be enough devices on these trucks to blow up everything in the middle of the U.S. at one time.
Back when CBs were the rage, we overheard truckers talking about “pore old so-and-so” who went into “Mexican Overdrive” on Route xxx.
Years later we found out that meant the guy lost his brakes.
Coming soon to an Interstate near you. Gonna be fun with a Haz-Mat rig.
Rick Perrys open border and TTC dreams coming to fruition under the radar?
Buzzzzzed- BS.
The jobs went to Mexico later or were selected to be placed in Mexico/India (later as with Perot Systems) on request of the customer that had that option because of NAFTA.
What would you like to know about this? I use to be a IT PM at Perot Systems on the Plano campus.
