Trump Is Still Not Ruling Out a Run at the White House
By Peter Gorenstein | Daily Ticker 17 hours ago
Donald Trump is still not ruling out a run for the White House in 2012. The outspoken critic of President Obama may decide to throw his hat back in the ring, after toying with the idea earlier this year, he tells The Daily Ticker in the accompanying interview. This time though, he'd look to run as a third-party candidate, rather than as a Republican.
"I will tell you if the wrong candidate is chosen and if the economy continues to be bad, which I think it will because I think we have incompetent leadership, I would certainly consider an independent run," the billionaire tells Aaron Task in the interview.
Trump has yet to endorse a GOP presidential candidate, but at some point he says he plans to. In our interview, Trump has complimentary things to say about surprising front-runner Herman Cain. "He's done a very impressive job," says Trump about the former Godfather's Pizza CEO. And he's also a fan of Rep. Michele Bachmann, with whom he participated in a telephone town hall meeting this week.

another haircut to deal with...
Good grief. So, who would Trump view as the “wrong candidate”?
I think the point is the idiot over at GOP hq who decided on this debate process which I call a circular firing squad is probably an o turd backer.
Newt was right the first time, we need not be knocking each other and keep our eye on the prize of winning the election against the turd. Instead we get a constant barage of nothing but soundbites for the O turd upcoming corrination.
As Karnack used to say on Johnny Carson show: the answer is O Turd. The question is who is going to win this election unless the GOP wakes up.
Anyone but him.
Vote for Trump=victory for the O.
Trump could be very helpful to the eventual GOP nominee by continually sniping at Obama the way he did over the birth certificate. That would keep Obama off balance and make it difficult for him and his lapdog media to organize and execute attacks on the GOP.
What a moron!
I don’t see how he thinks a 3rd party candidate would do anything but aide in the reelection of Barry.

Instead we get a constant barage of nothing but soundbites for the O turd upcoming corrination. Anyone can say I can beat O. Everyone on that platform believes they can. The reason there is the circular firing squad is that the candidates need to differtiate themselves so the person who may be leaning toward Cain might see that Bachmann or Perry has better ideas and a better chance to beat O.
It's just not a pretty process to do that.
Trump/Cain would be unbeatable.
Even if the Hildebeast signed up for Veep.
Oh just go away. The only person in America with a bigger need to say, ‘Look at me!” than Barack Obama.
Windbag.
He’s playing the media (and others) for fools. He’s not “ruling it out.” Of course he’s not ruling it out. As long as he doesn’t “rule it out” he can stay relevant.
Trump plays the media like a Stradivarius. He has no shot, but the publicity is great for his business interests. Good for Trump. Smart business guy, but not a serious candidate.
Pompous bankrupt gasbag.
If the GOP wants to prevent this, the party needs to stop kissing the feet of the “free trade” lobby.
Many thought the same of Ronald Reagan.
With Palin out, Trump is the only person out there, who could potentially generate a spontaneous surge of populist support.
He could do so, on the single issue of corrupt, anti-US Chinese trade policies, and the sell-out “American” flunkies they’ve purchased to market their wares here.
Wake up GOP. You’re on the wrong side.
Way, way on the wrong side.
“So, who would Trump view as the wrong candidate?”
Perhaps the one who hasn’t made the pilgrimage to NY to pay tribute to him. To the best of my knowledge, he’s met with Cain, Perry, and Bachmann. I’m not sure if he’s met with Romney, but I seem to recall him saying several months back that basically Romney was “small potatoes” as a businessman compared to him. I have no idea what he would think of Romney politically though.
Trump:
I Luv Yuh but STFU.
