BREAKING NEWS: Gaddafi 'captured' as rebel forces take control of Sirte Leader wounded in both legs prior to capture By DAILY MAIL REPORTER Last updated at 12:27 PM on 20th October 2011 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Share Muammar Gaddafi has been captured by revolutionary forces in Libya, it has been reported today. Gaddafi and his family have been on the run since Nato and rebel forces started closing the net on Tripoli in mid-August. The reports of Gaddafi's capture came on the same day that revolutionary forces said that they had taken control of Sirte - the leader's home town. Initial reports from CNN and the revolutionary council said Gaddafi was in custody, while Al Jazeera reported that a big fish had been caught but did not provide a name. Sky News reported that Gaddafi had been wounded in both legs prior to his capture. A military official told Reuters via telephone: 'He's captured. He's wounded in both legs ... He's been taken away by ambulance.

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, at that hour of the morning I am comatose. Strictly a night person. Hope you enjoy the multiple links at Comment 40.

I am comatose You are welcome ... and LOL at the comatose comment. There are reports of quddafi's tribe being, should one say, a little more than upset. Wonder where all those missing weapons went and wonder if both sides shared in the missing weapons? (imho) things could get worse before they become better. Praying it will not happen yet there goes another unknown on that huge pile of unknowns.
On another note ... Have you viewed any of the links regarding our troops massing on Pakistan border and Pakistan massing their troops on their border? Dang, this fall or winter could turn nuclear? Prayers for it not to happen (a nuclear fall or winter).

RE: "A few weeks ago there were reports he had asked banks in England and NY to transfer his funds/gold to Venezuela. Anyone know if this happened?"
Can't help you on that one. I have not been following any of this stuff for some time.

No doubt Mr. Nobel Peace Prize will be spiking the ball and taking the credit.
From another piece, "Gaddafi" tried to surrender according to a named witness and was murdered.
To: gleeaikin
They captured him with a hail of hot lead, from the sound of it.

Once again, the power of the eleventh universal commandment is on display. Thou shall not slaughter your own people or you will be found cornered like a small animal in a hole. Thank you France.

Obama is reportedly in tears that he didn't get to give Gaddafi a taxpayer funded Islamic memorial service as he historically did for Osama Bin Laden.
Barack Obama must be giving Gaddafi payback. Gaddafi repeatedly said that Obama is a muslim yet the State Department never corrected Gaddafi as his staff did Obamas critics.
All this goes to show is that the arab street does NOT care that even 'bad' muslims must be shown respect in death. Obama knows this and will eventually release the dead OBL photos to elevate his sagging poll numbers.

Yes, there has been a lot of military activity near the Pakistan border. I think Mrs. Clinton was there recently trying to talk with the Pakistanis and the Afghanis. I don’t think it will go nuclear. What are they going to do, drop a nuke on Afghanistan? Not likely. I would be more concerned, as I was a few years ago, if things got hot between Pakistan and India.

There was a report that Pakistan's military was threatening to throw nukes at India if our Military moved on Pakistan. That would be suicide for pakistan (imho) unless pakistan would be looking perhaps to just kill people. Have not confirmed the report of pakistan threatening to attack India if our Military attacked pakistan (fwiw).
