Are ratings really that bad? Rosie and Oprah do tequila shots together on air as OWN still struggles

They were meant to be the saviours of the ailing network.

Rosie was supposed to bring back her famous chat show charm and Oprah was going to share the lessons she had learnt in 25 years of her show.

But the only lesson Oprah seems to be offering on her ailing channel OWN, is when the going gets tough, turn to drink.

The gravy train rides no more for Oprah. What worked successfully in one season of time doesn’t mean it will continue in future seasons. Plus Oprah has been overexposed in the media for so long now.....

She should have learned from the Howard Stern experience with Sirius that the move from airwaves to paid content scrapes off LOTS of fans. So, that and hiring Rosie shows that she’s not that bright either.

Oprah is Oprah. She ain’t good at much else besides vapid “touch your inner self” new age narcissitic introspection that has no core and no limits. She was able to sell that when it had all the gimmicks of network daytime commercialism and bubble gum celebrity crap. You know, today we interview an utter odd-ball psycho, tomorrow a hollywood megastar, and the next day a senator, followed by a new age guru, then a show designed to sell things, etc. That works because sheeple like that bread & circuses routine. But now she is pretending that she is actually somebody with wisdom. She ain’t. Never has been. She knows how to make money and influence people - but she is a failure at what matters most in life. She has no family, no permanent enduring legacy other than having become a wealthy iconic guru of fads

That’s how I formed my opinions of Oprah and Rosie too.

I met a woman who worked for Creative Memories scrapbook company. Two of her co-workers went on the Rosie Show, this was years ago! She was nasty, petulant and self absorbed. When the woman told me this, it just cemented my opinion of her. That was even before she came out of the closet!

Oprah disappointed me with her drooling over Obama. I expected better of her and thought she might have been above “color”. Boy, was I wrong.
