The California man who lives part of his life as an adult baby and collects Social Security disability payments says the federal agency has cleared him of wrongdoing and will continue sending checks.
Stanley Thornton Jr. now wants an apology from Sen. Tom Coburn, the Oklahoma Republican who called for the benefit review because the investigation disrupted the final months of life for his roommate Sandra Dias, who playacted as his mother, spoon-feeding him and helping him into his baby clothes until her death in July.
We recently reviewed the evidence in your Social Security disability claim and find that your disability is continuing, the agency said in an August letter that Mr. Thornton posted on the website he maintains to document his adult baby lifestyle.

Mr. Thornton first gained prominence after he appeared on a reality television show and later after Mr. Coburn asked for the Social Security Administration to investigate him. The lawmaker questioned why he was receiving taxpayer-funded Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments, commonly called disability checks, given the woodworking skills he demonstrated in May on the National Geographic channel television show Taboo.

What?!? Why isn't he at the “Occupy Wall Street” protests! He would fit right in and he is sort of a paragon that the movement strives for. He wants to be taken care of and babied his entire life at other peoples expense. The Occupy Wall Streets new poster boy!

Unbelievable isn’t it???
If I can just say, Sen. Coburn asked that they look into his case, not that his benefits be taken away. Sen. Coburn was shocked as we all were, when this dude and his life were featured on a reality TV show.
Sen. Coburn owes no apologies to anybody for asking that this case be investigated.
This dude is clearly messed up somehow. Maybe somehow under the law he qualifies for these benefits. But nobody should apologize for not being liberal enough to say that this guy is clearly disabled when he’s clearly functional on some level.

I'm so glad to know that I will be working and paying higher and higher taxes for the rest of my life to support this man's "lifestyle".

This is one of the reasons why Social Security will be bankrupt. It was only supposed to be a safety net retirement program for those age 65 and over. Not a welfare program for the mentally deranged.

"In an extensive biography on his website, he describes trauma stemming from childhood abuse, combined with other mental and physical problems that he said make it impossible to maintain employment, including the security guard position he held for 1 1/2 years. People are free to engage in whatever adult fantasy games they want in the privacy of their own homes. When they start publicizing and promoting their weird and perverted behavior on “reality shows” and admit that they are living off of government subsidies then they should expect increased scrutiny.

Somewhere along the way, Social Security also became a disability program. I don’t know when that happened. But we pay billions in Social Security disability to people.
Do we really have to say it? This guy is not right in the head. It seems to me that if he’s getting benefits, he should also be required to get psychiatric help of some kind.
Along with so many things which we have liberalized, we have liberalized the definition of disability. We have moved far beyond supporting people with physical disability to those who have some less obvious mental impairments.

The SS Administration is infected with bleeding heart liberals who are all too ready to spend taxpayer money on benefits for every weirdo who claims to be too ill to work and support themselves.

This dude is clearly messed up somehow. This is all part of a sexual fantasy role playing game to him. It's a form of dominant/submissive sexual play where the "caretaker" wants someone completely dependent on them for sexual pleasure and the "baby" wants to be taken care of like a child to achieve the same.
It's a sick and twisted psychological aberrance for which we can thank the good folks under Kinsey back in the 60s.

When The Times first contacted Mr. Thornton about the investigation, he acknowledged thoughts of suicide, saying he had no problem killing myself if his benefits were taken away.Hmmmmm. Perhaps suicide could set a good example for the rest of the parasites out there to follow.
