“The gauntlet is now thrown down, Issa: find out when and what Holder and Obama knew”

I know very little about weapons. When I was young, I knew the nomenclature of my husbands M-16 rifle but that’s just about it. The Fast and Furious program has held my attention because at 100 of those weapons passed through my home in El Paso. (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-atf-guns-20110929,0,201277.story)
They call these “assault weapons.” I guess assault weapons come in different sizes, is that right? The weapons found at the site of the murdered Border Patrol agent (12-10-2010), were those rifles? The third gun, (the one Issa has said is missing and Holder says never existed) is that a rifle too? I’m curious because it’s missing. I’m also curious about the seller. A legitimate gun dealer? Do you guys know anything about him? Also...one last question. Jared Lee Loughner bought his gun at a legitimate gun shop. I think it was Sportsman’s Warehouse in Tucson. Is a Glock 23 considered an assault weapon too? I have found aoo,ooo articles on the subject. If someone can direct me to a spot on website where all of this can be studied, I’d appreciate it.

Here’s all you need to know about the so-called ‘Assault weapons’: it’s just a way of demonizing certain guns based on their appearance.

Hence the term: Scary-Looking weapons ban.
