Sergio Hidalgo was in line with his wife and two teenage daughters. All four needed to see a dentist.
One daughter had a hole in one of her teeth, his wife had inflamed gums and all of them had pain.
"We don't have the money to pay for this," said Hidalgo, 36, who lost his job a year and a half ago. Hidalgo and his wife are undocumented immigrants, as are a number of others waiting in line.

Most of the people who need dental work could be serviced with some string and a good swinging door...
What dental/medical care would these criminals get in their home country? We should give them the same treatment here.
What an opportunity. There are 3,000 lined up just waiting to be deported.
So this guy admits that he and his wife are here illegally..where the hell is INS!!! Oh yeah I forgot, this is LA
This is a town that want’s to give Ziggy Wilf a free football stadium. Such big hearts.
Ziggy, are you sure this is where you want your business to be in five years?
He has a choice in my view. Dental care in Mexico or dental care at Fulsom Prison.
illegals. Who paid for this?
The dentists and staff labored for hours, and took care of hundreds ...... all for free, and almost all were African-Americans.
When the medical staff was exhausted, they had to tell people to go home.
The staff was cursed, threatened, and had things thrown at them.
Wouldn’t it be cheaper to charter a bunch of buses to Vancouver and let them get treated there? Gotta think outside the box to save the Californian taxpayer some money!

They’ll meet the Canadian snowbirds going south for sunshine and Mexican dentistry!
I’ve witnessed this. I waited all night, in a Minnesota winter, I was first in line for the dental clinic (had a really bad tooth that had to go asap) must have been 400 people lined up behind me. I was one of the first in but the elevator broke and I was stuck in it for 6 hours. When they finely got me out of the elevator me, and those with me went to the front (and the end) of the line. The people they turned away went NUTS.
Police and security had to remove them from the premise.
Dentist did extra work for me because I was so cool even after being stuck in a standing room only elevator waiting to get out.
Tijuana is a lot closer. Just sayin'
Hidalgo and his wife are ILLEGAL ALIENS....
there, fixed that one.
Not for everyone. For 3000. There are 60 million citizens without any form of health insurance in this nation - and not by choice. Once you are over 50 and out of work, it is practically impossible to get any form of health insurance in this country. That’s because there is no profit in insuring the health of people who will probably be getting ill - an in serious ways - over the next 15 years.
I don't have the words to say what I'm thinking.
Oh, you have the words, all right, but they’d get you banned.
Yep.
I have little doubt that 90% of these deadbeats are in line for "pain" scrips.
If you are male or white, you're doomed. If you're female and pregnant you're OK. If you have children in tow, you're OK. If you're Native American, black or hispanic, you're OK too. If you're illegal, you're OK. If you've saved but can't make ends meet, you're doomed for food or housing assistance until you're destitute even if your savings reaches a point too low to keep you off the street.
If you've been self-employed, you've paid "both halves" of healthcare coverage at thousands per year for an individual. If you lose it due to costs, illness or downturn, too bad. If you're unable to work, too bad. There's no unemployment benefit for the self-employed. You were too self-sufficient, for too long, to need the social safety net and will be punished accordingly.
CA isn't the only broken state either. The stories I could share...
You caught me! It did cross my mind.
