Once again, Newt Gingrich stands out from the rest. And once again there are many on FR who refuse to consider him, whose minds are closed even as they admit he’s doing an excellent job in these debates.
It’s just obvious, folks. I wish he were perfect, and still wed to his first wife, and never made a political call that conservatives widely rejected...but right now he’s the best candidate.

I do not necessarily disagree with you on this point...of the field, he is in my top three.....and for the record...Romney doesnt make the first cut!

Newt is my second choice. He would be so much fun as a candidate. Wouldn’t you love it ?!

But I’m still for Perry absolutely. He has the proven conservative record and even if he talks slow, he gets the job done.

I’m good with a Newt/Cain Cain/Newt ticket.

Well, unfortunately, he is on his third wife, and he cheated on the first two, and his cheater companion is the one he is currently married to. Kind of hard to overcome that, wouldn’t you say, all you social conservatives?

Yep....I’ve changed my opinion of Newt...time to let the past remain the past...besides he;s never done a thing to hurt our nation...no question he has the ability to handle the washington crowd....and he’ll hit the ground running.
Am leaning more and more toward Newt...our country needs stability in our Pres. this time around....Newt has that.

As Perry is learning America is not Texas, he will have to learn Washington isn’t Texas as well. Romeny just sucks and is dangerous...Backman I like but she hasn’t gotten her grove back yet..Cain talks a good talk and would be good in Washington but very lax on foreighn affairs and policy as well as too great a learning curve governmentality...he’d need propping up. The rest are done.
