Yes, I thought the booing was for Perry. It comes later too, also at the discussion of illegals. I wondered if it was conservatives or Latinos doing the booing.
And that is, that depsite this commonality of faith that defines them as true Christians, Catholics believe Protestants are going to hell, and Protestants believe Catholics are going to hell - because of their differences in faith.
= - - - - - -
Not really they don’t.
And up until the 1980’s Mormons didn’t want to be considered Christians at all.
They deny the basic tenets of Christianity, things both protestants and Catholics agree on like the person work and nature of Christ. Mormonisms OWN teachings preclude them from being Christians.
And Jesus said a lot worse than what we do about Pharisees.
It would be a “wash” for most people, except that the cost of most goods and services would go down in price as businesses wouldn’t be burdened with such a high tax rate, and the economy would become “healthy” again in a very short time.
People would be spending money again, buying things, American made things, and businesses would be able to expand, hire more people, which would also contribute to a growing economy.
Thanks for the interesting link. I'll give that a thorough read tomorrow when I'm fully rested.
Can't disagree that our next president needs to be a real CiC who's not afraid to send our troops south to protect the American homeland. Enough with the spineless, pandering cowards already!
Not even. You brought up him about posting some Joseph Smith breaking thread.
I pinged Jim because I think what I said is important to FR. If you want to burn mormons in your furnace for heat this winter, go for it.
It just seems sad that anti-mormonism has to hijack every dicussion about the debates on the news page. Politically, it's no more than a straw man.
“Obviously I’d rather it would be CAIN/Romney...”
I’D rather see a Cain/Gingrich ticket - Newt is brilliant, a crackerjack debater AND would supply that political experience that so many keep complaining is absent in Herman.
It would be a great combination (and they even seem to like one another)! I’d even take it the other way around (Gingrich/Cain).
I generally like to keep the religious issues of candidates on hte religious forums but it is troubling that people do not understand how Romney’s been programmed and his absolute loyality “to those in power” in the LDS...which is a huge political and investment organization far aboce that of a religion. The religion aspect simply fuels the revenues coming in, as is their means of recruiting people to their organization.
People need to therefore look at all the holdings of this organization, of which Romney is their man, look at their real-estate investments and institutions where fast sums of money are funneled thru....and who they are. And realize that this organization has a very clear and precise political agenda here in the US and on an international scale and it isn’t about just building thier mosque type temples which is a front for all their other investments.
As to Romney’s actual positons with in the organization...well he’s held and holds critical rolls ofc ourse...and these will surely play into his decision making on this country.
Romney shook tonight because he’s unable to stand the heat...that’s how programmed individuals react when their backs are against the wall...he couldn’t stay the course he was of the “mindset” to take...and this is also why he has remained rather passive in other debates....this will happen again for him...because his mind is just plain warped.
“What happened to Herman Cain appearing on Greta’s show tonight? She’s been teasing that Herman was “coming up” all night, then he never appeared. :-( “
I noticed the same thing and was really disappointed. Greta frequently irritates me, although I know everyone reveres her. I think she’s a lib, and she DID come from CNN, after all.
Glock..I can appreciate your concerns but I do think it’s important that people understand the political agenda of the LDS organization and that there is one.
As with much of thier organization, their agendas are often held in secrecy, even from that of their average members. But don’t be mistaken to think Romny is simply an average candidate running for this office....he’s not and there’s far more to this than most realize.
I am not a former Mormon, but I have looked into their holdings and investments and how they operate. These will all benifit greatly should Romny gain the Presidency for the various people of thier organization who already serve in the capacity of leadership in many companies here and internationally...purposely placed and groomed for.
No it’s not a conspiracy type thing as they have been doing this for years. LDS people themelves push the conspiracy issue to keep people from looking at what they are really doing...and it works.
He was very sensibly ignoring the 14th Amendment question, as I recall, since constitutional scholars are in dispute about the meaning of “natural-born citizen” in the Constitution. I am glad he sidestepped it. No need to start that argument in the debate.
Actually, he said no to repealing the 14th but wouldn’t go into the anchor baby issue. (Have to watch that part again.)
We should piss off all the LDS who don’t support Romney. We should insult their religion, insult them personally, attack them for admitting their religious allegiance, and generally run them off. Hell, there aren’t so many of them that we can’t afford to alienate them, yet, wait, they’re a threat to us. Confusing, isn’t it?
You ready to start on Catholics, or is it that Santorum isn’t a threat? Jews next?
To (re)use the words of Everett Dirksen: “I do not disagree”. What you describe are those “dynamics” I referred to. But to be selfish and take my Mom as a fairly “typical” example of a senior / retiree, on a “static” basis it appears to me that the 999 plan comes out being a disadvantage to my Mom, so the “dynamics” have to make up for it. Then the question becomes how quickly and how strongly those dynamics kick in. There’s much more wrong than just our Federal tax code.
For a lot of people in more-or-less my Mom’s position, Herman has to make a very good, easily understood, and trusted(!) sales pitch.
“But within his answer contains the seeds of faith in our Creator with I believe goes against the Mormon religion which I believe is a cult.
I’m not LDS, but I think that’s the singularly most ignorant, in the purest sense of the word, post on this thread. Congratulations, and welcome to Free Republic. “
Go to any Christian book store or book site, find a book on cults, and Mormonism will be in it.
Orthodox Christianity has viewed Mormonism as a cult since it first appeared. This is nothing new.
You must not be aware of the major differences between Christianity and Mormonism. They are extreme. Just because someone uses the name “Jesus” doesn’t make them Christians. The Moonies believe in “Jesus-” they just think he’s the Rev. Moon.
Not to highjack the thread, there is nothing ignorant about considering Mormonism to be a cult. Check any Christian bookstore.
ID rather see a Cain/Gingrich ticket - Newt is brilliant, a crackerjack debater AND would supply that political experience that so many keep complaining is absent in Herman.
It would be a great combination (and they even seem to like one another)! Id even take it the other way around (Gingrich/Cain).
Oh, I agree with you, especially about CAIN/Gingrich! What a fantastic ticket that would be. And, yes, I've noticed these fellow Georgians really seem to like each other.
Romney/Cain, Cain/Romney was being discussed in my post (and other posts) above because right now these two seem to be the front-runners, and if we're stuck with Romney, Cain would probably be the perfect "anti-Romney, pro-Tea Party" VP candidate, as Romney has very few Tea Party conservative supporters.
Agreed.
They have tents, generators, and over $200,000 to buy arctic sleeping bags. Plus they have started occupying the subways at night to stay warm.
If he wins it, they will come. People are coalescing around Cain. He’s not *splitting* the conservative vote, but rather he’s taking the lion’s share from *all* of them. Bob
With the Dalai Lama holding his coat.
Exactly. Why does the left control the debates for both parties? It comes down to this: The establishment Republicans are wimps, and secondly, they hope to steer the thinking of rank and file voters to the issues that THEY believe should be discussed, and no others. They are very much like Democrats.
With Cain surging, the strategy is flopping big time. Bob
