For several months, radio host Tom Joyner has pleaded with his 8 million listeners to get in line behind the first black president.
Stick together, black people, says Joyner, whose R&B morning show reaches one in four African American adults.
The Rev. Al Sharpton, an ally of President Obama who has a daily radio show and hosts a nightly cable television program, recently told the presidents black critics, Im not telling you to shut up. Im telling you: Dont make some of us have to speak up.
Even as Obama and his campaign play down the suggestion that support among African Americans is flagging, a cadre of powerful allies is snapping back at critics in the black community and making explicit appeals for racial loyalty.
Lets not even deal with the facts right now. Lets deal with just our blackness and pride and loyalty, Joyner wrote on his BlackAmericaWeb.com blog. We have the chance to re-elect the first African-American president, and thats what we ought to be doing. And Im not afraid or ashamed to say that as black people, we should do it because hes a black man.
That message is pointed at racial unity much more than it was in 2008, when just the prospect of electing the nations first black president brought out record numbers of African American voters....

“..we should do it because hes a black man.
Hey, Cain’s a black man.
"Let's not even deal with the facts right now. Let's deal with just our blackness and pride -- and loyalty... We have the chance to re-elect the first African-American president, and that's what we ought to be doing. And I'm not afraid or ashamed to say that as black people, we should do it because he's a black man.IOW, he really is dealing with the FACTS, which are, that the only reason anyone voted FOR Obama was that the voters who did were racists.
Hey...wait a minute....you’re pushing a HALF Black man....
I think Cain could deliver surprising numbers of blacks in Detroit. The democrat mayor of Detroit is a lot more ideologically similar to Cain than he is to Obama. Both are successful black businessmen.
The simple fact is that Detroit isn’t going to vote for a white man but they might just vote for a black man who could do them (and us) some real good.
Joyner’s an avowed racist but he’s the right kind of racist so there will be no outrage.
We have the chance to re-elect the first African-American president>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
One problem......Obama is not Afro American......he is Arab American......maybe....... drop the American part and say Arab Kenyan.
Now Herman Cain is clearly African American, and besides , he sings really well. Why doesn’t Tom Joyner push Cain?
Herman Cain Sings Lennon:

Obama is 50% black.
Cain is 100% black.
Hence, the democrats are racist.
Well using this logic I guess I as a sane white Christian man can’t vote for:
Cain because he is black.
Bachmann because she is a woman.
Romney because he is a Mormon.
Paul because he is a nut.
Limits the field some.
One line of attack--why wasn't he a civil rights activist back in the 1960s?
Joyner and others are part of a mindlessness that has swept the community.
The AJC is flooding local TV with ads apologizing for her and begging sane people to come back and buy the paper. Unless you were looking for it, I don't know how anyone would even find her bleatings.
Come on all you black folks, follow this Pied Piper flute playing POS over the cliff.
It doesn’t matter if he is a complete failure, He be half black and we must follow.
Cain is black.
Obama is 50% white. The rest mostly arab along with some black.
Kim du Toit is an African-American.
(I think Obama is probably African-American too but he denies it, claiming he was born in Hawaii)
Also, Cain's ancestors were slaves. Obama's ancestors owned slaves. The majority of blacks are in favor of enslaving others to pay for their health care. Hence, they are hypocrites.
Kim du Toit is an African-American.
I miss that guy's blog.
Al Sharpton’s “Jew them down” racism is on record. Who cares what an outed bigot thinks about endorsing a president?
Shouldn’t the media be treating his pressure tactics as a BAD thing?
They didn’t even call him out on his racism when he ran for president.
Yep. I hope he and the family are doing well.
I read somewhere that the Mrs. had a serious medical problem.
I thought there were complaints he wasn’t black enough?
