"It was a joke," Cain said emphatically. "I apologize if I offended anyone. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa."

Romney is the real 100% panderer. Cain is a rank amateur by comparison, and I don’t get the impression that pandering is a natural characteristic for him.
I guess this must have something to do with salvaging the hispanic vote. Supposedly, the Republican nominee has to get 35-40% of that demographic to win the Presidency. I don’t necessarily buy that, but maybe Cain’s advisors do.
Everyone is touting Perry based on his role and experience as Governor of Texas.
Sorry, but I don’t want a President with liberal views on educating Illegals and paving their way to citizenship.
Call me Conservative.
One solution that works for everyone - Keep Perry in Texas.
If they come on our property illegally than as President he should shoot. They are coming on our property as a country....trespassing is serious.
Here we are on yet another thread where no one will answer the question of why defending the border with deadly force is wrong/bad etc.
Do people think we should just ask nice as they keep coming?
Someone PLEASE define exactly why killing people who are invading your countey is bad.
I do believe that Conservatives will unite behind the ultimate candidate. I don't think so if it's Romney, however.
Right now I think we are all trying to get our candidate of choice elected and I know that I can be quite adamant about my wanting Herman Cain.
I would have a really hard time with Romney - been there done that in ‘08.
He’ll probably remain in Texas but my question stands.
Are you against ‘States Rights’?
All I did was actually read the story. Can't account for confusing headlines or expectations.
I am if he plans an electric fence down the middle of the Rio Grande!
Hey, you can be civil.
How bout that!
Shall I bring up your past “civil” posts this week?
Doesn’t it affect the rest of the country when states invate criminals to invade, and stay?
I am if he plans an electric fence down the middle of the Rio Grande!
That is such a tired excuse. Go around the dang thing on the American side. Very easy. I am telling you that he just does not want to make it difficult for his favorite “last name” aliens. If you think about it you would agree.
If they come on our property illegally than as President he should shoot. They are coming on our property as a country....trespassing is serious.
If I get the urge and want to protect and defend our borders, I can drive down to Texas and hang around the border. As soon as I spot Pedro, his wife, and his couple of kids bursting across the line, I, as an American, can assume they are trespassing in my America,so I have carte blanche and can squeeze off a few shots at them and if I blow off Pedro’s wife’s head, good for me?
Forgive me if I’m wrong about this, and I hope this is not your position. Typed out, it is quite disturbing to think any decent human being could believe this.
Get the feds to secure the border and the problem goes away.
The on ly thing both parties push is FEELINGS and how the invaders are just poor hard working people who want a better a life and since many of us are descended from immigrants, we must accept unlimited immigration to the point of national suicide, or we are heartless, racist and cruel.
Does this sound like Perry was "taken off message"? Nice attempt at revisionist history you've got going there.
The phony apology over Perry's "heartless" comment is every bit as insulting as the comment itself. He wants us to all think it was a gaffe. It WASN'T.
Watch the Perry comment again. He was PASSIONATE when he said it.
Start at the 2:40 mark.
No-I am not against States Rights - just as long as they reflect what the people of the State want and not the special interest groups or political hacks.
Hey there you are! Since you never did answer and ducked the other thread perhaps you’ll answer here.
Is using deadly force to protect the border wrong or not?
No-I am not against States Rights - just as long as they reflect what the people of the State want
Thanks for your permission. Remember the State of Texas passed the legislation back in 2001 by a vote of 177 - 4. It was the people’s representatives speaking.
Take care and have a good one.
