SAN ANTONIO (Reuters) - Texas law enforcement officials say several Mexican drug cartels are luring youngsters as young as 11 to work in their smuggling operations.
Steven McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, told Reuters the drug gangs have a chilling name for the young Texans lured into their operations.
"They call them 'the expendables,'" he said.
McCraw said his investigators have evidence six Mexican drug gangs -- including the violent Zetas -- have "command and control centers" in Texas actively recruiting children for their operations, attracting them with what appears to be "easy money" for doing simple tasks.
"Cartels would pay kids $50 just for them to move a vehicle from one position to another position, which allows the cartel to keep it under surveillance to see if law enforcement has it under surveillance," he said. "Of course, once you're hooked up with them, there's consequences." McCraw said 25 minors have been arrested in one Texas border county alone in the past year for running drugs, acting as lookouts, or doing other work for organized Mexican drug gangs. The cartels are now fanning out, he said, and have operations in all major Texas cities.

Pretty sure it’s already happening. Throw in some Chavez and “voilà”!
There have been MS13 members captured with Muslim tattoos.
Here’s an article on it.

It’s not just a border issue anymore. Every
major city in Texas has Mexican drug cartels conducting smuggling and distribution.
Please remember Reagan’s Commandment.
Please remember Reagans Commandment.
Absolutely. Reagan said not to say bad things about Republicans.....I don’t. I don’t consider Romney or Perry to be Republicans.....they are democrats/liberals who are pretending to be Republicans. This election is too important and that is why I am thrilled that Cain is winning.
Actually... Border enforcement is a federal responsibility not a state responsibility.
What a stupid thing to say. It is not the State of Texas’ job to secure the border, yet our State has spent over $400 million of our own tax dollars on just that. (along with relief for Rita and Katrina, our own Hurricane Ike, the wildfires and absorbing 1000 US citizens from other States, every day.
The real culprit is the Federal government, especially under Obama’s DOJ, DHS.
President Bush had at least utilized Section 287(g) to allow local law enforcement to detain and arrest illegals. These State and Local use of 287 (g) and other measures were reported as working in April, 2009.

The Obama administration’s Government Accounting agency released a report in March, 2009, that said the program wasn’t working and there was “racial profiling.” So the Obama Administration began to destroy that success in July ‘09,
http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2009/07/section-287g-revisions-tearing-down-state-and-local-immigration-enforcement-one-change-at-a-time
making it nearly prohibitive with their regulations: they’ll only consider “serious crimes,” the local law agencies must prosecute all the way through the courts, with that expense and time - and jail over-crowding, and then, they still restrict county Sheriffs and city police access to the database that would allow them to check citizenship or status.
(BTW, learned about this from the Governor’s book, “Fed Up!”
At times it seems we are conducting it for the benefit of the dealers.
It is not the State of Texas job to secure the border
Perry has made that pretty clear. He like Obama likes to blame someone else. We already have one complainer.....WE DON’T NEED ANOTHER.
Our State has spent our own money, time and lives doing the job that is reserved to the Feds by the Constitution. Our Governor has led where the Feds have refused.
Governor Perry has been active in border security and controlling illegal immigration since early in his first term as Governor.
During his first Session of the Texas Legislature, he vetoed a bill that would have allowed illegal aliens to obtain drivers licenses. (We got a law that prohibits them, this year. It takes a while when our Legislature only meets for 4 months every 2 years.)
Immediately after September 11, 2001 attacks on Washington, DC and New Yorks World Trade Center, the Governor helped coordinate the deployment of 530 National Guardsmen at airports all over the State. In November 2001, he added 133 more to the number of National Guards posted at 27 airports in Texas. http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/4233/
In October 1, 2001, Governor Perry announced the creation of the Governors Task Force on Homeland Security. http://governor.state.tx.us/news/executive-order/4440/
In June, 2002, the Governor announced that Texas would receive Federal grants for building border security facilities at the border crossings. These facilities would inspect trucks and other vehicles that cross from Mexico into Texas. (there were none before 2002). http://governor.state.tx.us/news/speech/10787/
In May, 2002, the Governor used funds from his own office to institute Counter Terrorism training at the Port of Houston and another separate program to train state and local law enforcement. http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/4322/
When the Texas Legislature refused to fund his program to implement a "virtual border" using camera surveillance to augment "boots on the ground," so he used money from the Governors discretionary fund. In some cases, local sheriffs and cities refused to cooperate and their opposition impeded full implementation of the program.
Look. He might have done a few things at the border and immigration. However, if he was serious he would follow Alabama and Arizona. He clearly is not serious about it. He talks a good game but you don’t hear Arizona or Alabama complaining....they take action, Perry does not....he would rather blame others. If Perry would act like the governor of Alabama than I would agree with you.
You forgot the sarcasm marker. It is already happening. Leave a door wide open and all sorts of creepy crawlies will come right in. Imagine that.
Perry nor the federal goverment have the answer. If we were to look into our past, we already had the answer. Commitees of Safety and militia. Nothing in more American than you and your neighbors loading up and hunting down druggies and gangs. And killing them legally.

That was only a short list of the Governor’s efforts from 2001 to 2005. There’s tons and tons more since:

In the meantime, the Feds are bringing illegals they catch in Arizona to Texas, to let them go across our border.
http://articles.latimes.com/2011/sep/29/local/la-me-immigrant-deport-20110930
In addition to our new laws on voter ID and prohibiting illegals from getting drivers licenses, did you know that we have a new law that pushes the Feds to let us deport illegal aliens who are in our prisons here in Texas?

Yes, you do hear Alabama and Arizona “complaining,” if that’s fighting the lawsuits that the Feds are bringing against them.
We joined the effort to fight the Administration’s suit against Arizona.
http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/14881/
We’ll most likely join Arizona’s counter-suit, too. That case is still at the injunction stage, and was only filed this month.
You live in Italy and are from Pennsylvania. What an expert on Texas you are. I’m glad you don’t live here, too.
Yeah right. I live in Maryland.....I don’t care if I am an expert on Texas. This fraud wants to be my President and I will do whatever I can to ensure that doesn’t happen.
You are a tad jacked up and irrational tonight. Need a nap? I do. Nite. :)
Good night. Can’t wait for the primary to be over......BTW, NAPSCOORDINATOR has nothing to do with taking a nap. However, it might be time for bed.
