Herman Cain has jumped to an 11 point lead in Iowa over rival Mitt Romney.
Of republicans polled: Cain 28.9% Romney 17.7%
woot!

Romney was the flavor of the year. And his year is now up.

This is good. I just saw some news program claiming that because Cain wasn’t immediately coming to Iowa...he was destined to lose the straw poll.

Let’s hope for the best tomorrow night’s debate is crucial. I haven’t seen Cain debate yet, I hope he comes out on top.

I’m more afraid of Romney in ‘12 than I was of Giuliani in ‘08.
Will be very relieved if he fades, but that seems very unlikely. McCain wasn’t doing so well 4 years ago today either.
To: TexasFreeper2009
When is Cain ever going to start really campaigning, like Carl Rove has said many, many, many times?

I’m not too concerned with who’s numbers are going up as long as Romney’s numbers are going down.

Cain is the only candidate who is not part of the club.
Romney is certainly a member, and Perry is just a stalking horse for Romney.

Cain is just Mitt's stalking horse don't you know! Cain-Mitt, Mitt-Cain, it doesn't matter Mitt has merely sent his errand-boy Cain out to fetch him the nomination. Why even with 51% of the delegates Cain will just turn them over to Mitt. Cain is running just to sell books and get a nice cushy job on Fox don't you know that? Cain is part of the FED! Cain has horns and a tail! Cain wants your first born in taxes! And that's just the good things about Cain.

Crazy poll result from Florida, from the same pollsters. The top line isn't too insane: Romney edging Cain, 32.6-30.2. Then you look at the breakdown. In the Florida poll, among 18-29 years olds, no other candidate but Romney gets a single vote. Also, Romney mops the floor among Independent voters.
The good news is this: Among Florida Republicans, Cain leads by 5, 33-28.7 Without that wierd skew among 18-29 years olds (computer glitch?) what would the margin be?

Conservatives need to get behind Herman Cain immediately. I just read on another thread that Jim DeMint is thinking about endorsing Mitt Romney. If the GOP Establshment forces another RINO down our throat, there will be hell to pay. There is already talke of running a Conservative 3rd Party candidate.
