Interesting and tragic how people like this can hurt so many other people and negatively affect others' lives while they are polishing their own apple and making themselves feel good about how they've changed the world and championed ‘social justice’. I find these people to be among the most selfish on the planet, despite the fact that they feel that they are among the biggest ‘do gooders’. It's just another form of self-indulgence. And yes, they hurt many, many people in the process.

Not necessarily. A lot of them are simply sick in the head and would be on some other self-destructive mission if not the communist movement. Many are very angry, self-hating people who need any sort of outlet to express their anger and frustration (with themselves). One need look no further than Michael Moore or Ward Churchill to understand what I'm saying. Both are seriously angry and demented. There are many others in the movement just like them.
