WILLIAMS: Cain’s common sense, moxie impress

Last weeks Republican presidential debate hosted by Bloomberg and The Washington Post at Dartmouth College continued to write an emerging story line of this election cycle.
A few observations:
1. Herman Cain continues to impress. This guy has moxie, folks. He knows what he believes and why he believes it. One attendee in the audience last week told me that Mr. Cain has a presence when in the room, and theres something refreshing (if cavalier) about his approach and the way he argues his points. There were a few slip-ups, but overall, a solid performance, and his trajectory continues upward.
Also, some seem surprised that Mr. Cain is now the front-runner. What Mr. Cain represents is something that has been severely lacking in political leadership, and that is common sense. Interestingly enough, the vast majority of people in this country still have a modicum of common sense. Many politicians appear to have some when they first go to Washington and then rapidly lose it, owing to the influence of special-interest groups, including organized political parties. If Mr. Cain can resist contamination by traditional Washington influences, he may prove to be just what our nation needs for restoration to greatness.

My problem with Cain’s common sense is he thinks taxes are the #1 issue for country. Actually taxes are the #1 issue for Republicans but jobs are the #1 issue for the country. Jobs will be the topic of the 2012 elections.

999 would go a very long way to starting a huge boom in jobs, not to mention the loss of jobs for about 90% of IRS employees and the leeches we call tax lawyers.
>>>>> There were a few slip-ups.. Right!
Cain on Saturday: Electric fence, lets kill them, then the next day: I was only kidding.
Cain might come to regret that rhetorical outburst. Well, may be not. LOL

Love Cain, concerned about his lack of organization. A friend of mine who never sent money to a candidate before just made their first donation—to Cain.
Something happening here, what it is ain’t exactly clear...

I like how on MTP he even clarified that he prefers to be referred to as a “black American” - a shot over the bow of the politically-correct “African American” term that we’re told we’re supposed to use now.

Didn’t Williams turn into a ‘Bamabot in 2008? Did he suddenly repent of it?

"Unlike Boner, McCain, and McConnell et al.......nobody can BUY Cain......he aint for sale."
Herman Cain who truly was until recently a virtual unknown had faith enough in himself to decide to run for President of the United States on his own. There was no Media hype/pressure/build-up about a possible run, there was no urging by members of the Party, no words spoken into his ear by party players, elites, beltway boys or pundits, not even a word of encouragement from the Republican Party of his home state only faith in himself. Now after months of being treated as being a inconsequential candidate the curious sideshow of a conservative black Republican, he is now in the top tier along with people of great party pull, of men with experienced political machines and the dollars to power them. He did that on his own with no help from anyone except by his own. Now think what a man with faith in himself like that could accomplish if given the chance.
Now many are saying Cain hasnt a chance with his little formal organization and even less money.
Well let me remind all of you of what a recent movement did with no formal organization and even less money, The Tea Party.
The Tea Party manage with both those weakness to go on and seriously change the political landscape and in doing so caused the Leftist members of government, elitist of both political parties and media types to quake in fear of them and their wrath and all done with only a minimum of formal organization and on a shoe string budget.
Thats what successful AMERICANS do, what they have always done! Its what makes us WINNERS! They start out with what they have and they MAKE IT WORK! They make it work because what they dont have in manpower or money they make-up with brains, sweat, blood and last but most important faith.

That's another positive about Cain - he's not part of GOP hierarchy. He's not beholden to the Karl Rove’s, Bill Crystal's, et al. He will be a break from the ruling GOP establishment. The ruling GOP establishment can't afford for Cain to be the nominee.

There is a direct relationship between debt, taxes and spending relative to private sector jobs. Increase them, jobs go down.
The less private sector has to spend, the less they can grow.
The Democratic party will never learn this lesson hence NO JOBS.

What people who were never taught to think for themselves do not get is that the 999 plan is good for business, which is therefore GOOD FOR JOBS.

Many believe this, or a version of what you wrote. When the blinders drop, it is a logical conclusion. It's just so damn hard to believe that uhbama and so many liberals like him truly believe their idea of a Utopian America. They are so frustratingly stupid; these people are UNABLE to learn from history.
