This is a Newt-Romney thread. Can you explain why you are here to attack Perry supporter? Watch your personal attacks, just a warning.

That the other thing about the Romney bots you resemble. When challenge on how they are using the standard Romney bots tactics they get all hysteric and emotional in denying it.

Sorry Chesty, your posting style exposes you.

How about this, instead of continuing your shameless smear job campaign, you try convincing us to vote for your candidate of choice instead.

"shameless smear job campaign, "

Find one example and post it here. Does Cain really need posters like you? All you do is turn people away from Cain. Cain is a damn good man and wouldn't approve of what you are doing for him. He has class and ethics.

I haven’t seen Cain go after Romney on much of anything, except “my 9-9-9 plan is simpler than your 59 point plan, Mitt”

Good. Cain needs to stay positive, he's running as a problem solver not as a partisan hack. It does not hurt Cain, of course, that bottom dwellers like Perry are attacking Romney. Maybe Perry is a stalking horse for Cain?

I have no problem with Newt slamming Mittens. I just found it ironic that he was a real Rockefeller Republican at one time and now is using that as an attack on him.

Three or so years ago, I would have accepted Newt as a real conservative and leader of the Republican party. But, Nancy, as in Pelosi, came along and so long Newt!

1968 was 43 years ago. I think that Newt is allowed to change his mind over a 43-year period; I’m sure that he’s not the only Republican who learned the error of his ways and switched from supporting liberal Republicans who he mistakenly deemed more “electable” to supporting conservative Republicans. By comparison, Reagan was a New Deal Democrat and supported the Dem presidential candidate as late as 1956 or maybe even 1960, and we all know about Perry supporting Al Gore in 1988. Heck, I don’t know for whom Herman Cain (towards whom I’m currently leaning) voted in 1968 (the year after he graduated from college), but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that he voted for Humphrey.

It is not hard to see why Cain endorsed Romney in 2008 and why endorse him again in 2012.

Romney owns the Largest Radio Newtwork in the USA, Clear Channel Radio Network and Romney is in a position to get Cain a lucrative Talk Radio Contract even if Romney does not win the Nomination.

The difference is Newt - SHOULD he chose to, and that’s a big if - is capable of completely eviscerating him.

It will be interesting to see how far he goes.

I’m not sure if you realize it or not...but that’s similar to an old internet tag line I first saw over 10 years ago:

“When I die it want it to be peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not terrified and screaming like his passengers.”

"Cain says Romney not a staunch conservative? What a whimpy attack."

----

Yep. It didn't make as much news, but in the same speech he also said that arsenic is not a good headache remedy and that he didn't think Casey Anthony would make a very good babysitter.

most Americans have probably never heard of Nelson A. Rockefeller

I once rode home from California seated next to Megan Marshak...

And after six hours, I couldn't testify that SHE ever heard of him...

Jesus Christ, I can’t believe people are actually ragging on Newt for supporting Rockefeller 43 years ago. Newt has plenty of flaws, but Reagan supported FDR, Rick Perry supported Al Gore and when I was 20 I supported Jimmy Freaking Carter. People can change.

Now when you have people like Myth changing like a weather vane in their 50’s...that’s somewhat different. Still, the fact that Newt supported Nelson Rockefeller in 1968 is a pretty weak attack.

Gingrich to Romney: You’re a Rockefeller Republican

Romney to Gingrich: Takes one to know one, buddy.

I’ll vote for Newt if I have to. It is just that I don’t look at him as the poster boy for Conservationism. Recently he has played footsie with Hillary on health care issues, Pelosi on global warming BS and just a couple years ago he said that the era of Reagan was dead and to get over him. He routinely says insulting and stupid stuff about the Conservative movement on Sunday news shows only to have to hit Hannity on Monday for a mea culpa. In my mind he is a closet Rockefeller Repub who acts Conservative for convenience.
