I see people texting constantly while I’m on the subway, and it’s depressing. I know I sound like an old fogey, but I have to wonder, what did these people do before texting? What is it they’re texting that’s so incredibly important?

It just seems like such a time-waster. I text one or two friends occassionally, and the exchanges last one or two messages each. But then, the participants in my exchanges both have jobs.

Texting is another “social aid”. It’s like Facebook. People will not exchange phone numbers and talk, they will get requests and select time and place to respond, whenever.

I believe texting is an addiction

I refuse to do it, blocked my teen from doing it or it would take over her life, as has happened to her peers

No offense to anyone here, but I've always believed that "texting" is a communication method for stunted people who are incapable of writing or speaking coherently.

Sounds like a perfect communication method for more and more people in this country, when you think about it.
