The incidence of increased population from our southern border should not have had a negative impact on our economy. No, this is misdirected fault. We should be a robust economy that should be able to accommodate everyone. If we think we should slow down the influx so that the accommodation process is more manageable, we should be smart enough as the most powerful nation on earth to create a secure border. If it requires eyes in the sky, cameras, IR sensors, vibration sensors, proximity sensors, boots on the ground and the newest satellite mounted long-wavelength infra-red sensors then we must do it. No, easily defeated electric fencing with machine gun manned watch towers is old school. We don't even do it along the border between North and South Korea.
I don’t know why we don’t just start with dredging out side of the Rio Grande. Every few years we have to dredge the Delaware because it keeps silting up. Let’s widen and dredge the Rio Grande to 50’ depth, which will let us concentrate more of our patrols west of it.
