Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said Saturday that part of his immigration policy would be to build an electrified fence on the country’s border with Mexico that could kill people trying to enter the country illegally...
Mr. Cain added that he also would consider using military troops “with real guns and real bullets” on the border to stop illegal immigration.
The remarks were among the most pointed yet by Mr. Cain about illegal immigration, and they come as he is enjoying a surge in national political polls on the back of his victory in a recent Florida straw poll..
It is not the first time that Mr. Cain has floated the idea of an electrified fence. He has told the story many times of a caller to his former radio show who chastised him for talking about building a border fence, saying that such an idea was impractical.
“It’s going to be 20 feet high. It’s going to have barbed wire on the top. It’s going to be electrified. And there’s going to be a sign on the other side saying, ‘It will kill you — Warning.’” At an earlier rally, on the campus of Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tenn., he added that the sign would be written “in English and in Spanish.”
“This nation has always been a nation with wide open doors,” Mr. Cain said at the second rally. “We want to make it easy for people to come through the front door. And we’re going to shut off the back door so you don’t have to sneak into America.”

“In military terms the wall is a force multiplier. Nobody said an unmanned wall. It takes an order of magnitude less troops/agents to patrol a wall. The wall is MORE important in the remote areas because that is where supporting troops is the most difficult. Walls are non political and are on duty 7/24/365. “

Before he could electrify the fence he would have to fire Obama’s EPA so we could get the juice to do it.

I’m waiting for him to say he was wrong regarding his in-state immigration policies (not that I’d believe him, but others might).
The heartless stuff just shows us the real Perry...and of course he needs to that bottled up as he runs for president.

I’m still waiting for that Sanctuary City law. Any word on when he plans to call the needed special session?

Some Aholes like the Mayor of Houston and the Sheriff of Dallas said they would not enforce the law.
Therefore under your logic Perry is against 2nd amendment rights.
Not one that I know of in the world.
In most countries you would be facing a jail sentence, not getting a handout or a subsidized education.
Most countries don’t have a immigration policy period!
Take a look at China, Japan, and India and MEXICO!
More illegals = more of our tax dollars going to “essentials” to keep them in our country!

Yea, you feel it in gut, just not sure why. It sound EXACTLY like something McCain would say to us (and likely did) at times.
Do not believe Adolf had to build a fence to keep the pond scum out of his country. Are you saying he did. You amnesty supporting perry people seem deeply confused by history.

The Berlin tunnel was a TV special years ago...how they dug with spoons and smuggled the dirt out...really interesting.
I went thru Checkpoint Charlie in 1965...the fence was not remarkable but the towers manned with soldiers ordered to shoot to kill were impressive!

Find me a post where I went after Perry on the 2nd Amendment (while you find out when our next special session on the Sanctuary Law will be called).
My Father-in-Law was stationed in N.Mex @ a P.O.W. Camp during WWII, they used a very simple eye-bolt with a pin balanced to alert us to digging beneath the area. Worked quite well. The Germans didn’t like it, though.
Pres. Eisenhower cleaned house and sent the illegals to Mexico City via ships. They didn’t like it either. BUT IT WORKED.
