“If he is the candidate, most tea-partiers will probably vote for him, but the motivation to donate, work, and fight is going to be much lower and will probably cost us the election.”
If he is the candidate, then the gop is already dead as far as conservatism is concerned.
And they will snicker behind closed doors at having screwed over the voters leaving us a choice of progressive #1 or progressive #2.
If Romney wants to be President maybe he should run as what he really is: a Democrat.
He could probably “primary” Obama.
Please stop “winner take all primaries”. Here is why. The liberal rinos run 1 ( in this case two— with Huntsman)candidates against 6 or 7 real American conservatives. Democrat socialists cross over and we stand there like last time and watch the socialist win with 22& on the vote!! That is anti democratic and rigging by the liberal wing of our party. We cannot be that stupid!! Stop the rigging to the minority of our party!! We want proportional representation or we need to RIOT in our front yards!!
Whoever the nominee is, will get 98.9% of the tea party vote, guaranteed. We understand beating Obama and we know we can steer the cart no mater the animal pulling it.
How would Romney be a win? He is not reliably different from what we have now. Mitt has absolutely no core principles to keep him on track.
your shouting that in a closet. get out on other forums and shout it loud, shout it often and maybe it will help.
“I believe Romney is far better for this country than Obama.”
Both are statists. Both will embrace collectivism albeit at different speeds. The end destination is the same.
We are substantial part of the GOP base, it is past time for us to be taken seriously.
I will never, ever vote for Romney...NEVER!
I am, dear! :)
Mittens may well choose Bachmann or Cain just to test “purists”. Bachmann and Cain ought to announce that they will refuse to run with him. They won’t do that, however.
“Whoever the nominee is, will get 98.9% of the tea party vote, guaranteed.”
Actually if it’s someone like mittens, they won’t. And enough will stay home or vote for third parties to tip the election to obama.
If the GOP nominate Romney they are cutting their own throat.
Jim . You are my hero. We agree . Please help stop “winner take all” primaries. That is the enemy!! The socialists run 1 guy and the conservatives run 6. This is not rocket science!! Let’s have a knock down drag out convention where all bring their EARNED delegates!! That is AMERICAN DEMOCRACY! this other stuff is rigging. You can stop it Jim. You have great power with the Tea Party. They are asleep on this, Please wake them up or we get another Candidate that WILL BE ABANDONED by conservatives like the last two. Please get on this. Thanks.
I really don’t care who Mitt chooses to be VP, I won’t vote for him. RINOs lose no matter who the have running with them. With Romney as the nominee, there will be two democrats running. One of them will have a R next to their name.
soooo, you accept the proposition of another 4 years of Obama by sitting it out if your guy doesn’t get the nod? Really? if he gets 4 more its done, over, vamoose... we become enemies of the state... sorry, I’m not willing to go there... I will support whoever gets the nomination, even if its Ron Paul the batty...
“If we elect Romney, then the electorate will be confused and frustrated, believing that neither side has anything to offer and that theres no point in a republic. Well lose everything.”
History doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes. And this score is begionning to sound an awful lot like weimar Germany.
“Whomever the nominee may be, he/she needs to be supported.”
No, not really. This country can survive obama for four more years. What it cannot survive is a consensus view that a republican form of government is a farce and that voting is an exercise in futility.
