I've never heard of a group of Christians raping, torturing, murdering, and enslaving children as means to establish peace on earth. The LRA doesn't sound like a group of Christians to me.
This is what I just heard Rush Limbaugh reporting too.
WTF?!? <<< By which I don't mean "Winning The Future"
Please tell me you are kidding. Everything I've heard about the LRA is they are a sicko bunch of whacked out cultists with no meaningful connection to Christianity. There is even a recent movie about a Christian missionary who has taken up arms against them ("Machine Gun Preacher" or something like that).
The LRA maims and cripples people for crimes like riding bicycles. Not to mention kidnapping kids to serve as child soldiers while brainwashing them to follow their cult leadership. That's not exactly in line with Christian doctrine.
Not even close. Their leaders is a whacko who thinks he is The Prophet and Messiah. They are as brutal as they come. They have killed plenty of Christians including, Pastors, Priests, nuns and missionaries. The kidnap children and keep them on drugs turning them into child soldiers.
I have friends who have worked there as missionaries and Pastors...and have two friends who are there right now as missionary leaders in Uganda.
I don't trust Obama one iota and his sending troops there is trouble I am sure but you don't know what you are talking about.
This is sad and tragic beyond what Obama has already done.
This proves beyond any shadow of a doubt obama is anti Christina and anti semeitc in now the Ivory Coast, Tunesia, of course Afghanistan and Iraq, Libya, Egypt, nothing to do with slaughters and shar'aia law in Sudan, Nigera( and slaughters of Christians) plus ignorning Iranian pleas for help while Obama watched them die, never lifted a finger except demanding Israel stop "settlement building" and return to 1967 borders.
What he's planned or planning in Uganda sounds like serious orders against what he calls post Judeo-Christan natiion and has ushered in a pro-muslim dichotomy as evidenced by muslim Brotherhood in every alphabet soup company and the WH. That's enough. This Uganda thing is tragic after his Kinetic HumanitarianWAR in which allegedly 30,000 Libyan's were killed or murdered. What more proof do we need he is NOT a president by and for THE PEOPLE but a dictator that need not explain anythig beyond his own arrogant ideologies? he has made us a nation seriously divided in which as is well known Washington especially the WH and selected Czars are carrying out their own agendas despite what we the people want, desire and voted upon!
Analogy or not Hank Williams is right he is an evil little shi'ite!

But I dont think our military intervention is warranted.”
We in the conservative movement need to do some **SERIOUS** fact-checking on the Lord's Resistance Army and which side our President has chosen to support.
If NavyCanDo is correct in saying Rush Limbaugh didn't do his homework, we have a problem.
I'm not saying we should have gotten into this quagmire at all. I am far from convinced that this situation warrants American intervention. But now that we're in it, we need to take some hard looks at whether the LRA is, as the mainstream media are portraying it, a group of rapists and murders, or whether this is the President of the United States taking sides in a war that is perceived as being a religious war. The end result could be very damaging for the future of the United States since much of the world does think of military conflict in religious terms even if we aren't accustomed to thinking that way.

He is not fighting Muslims any more than Christians or other religious beliefs. He has been creating havoc in the country for 20 years, and is a very bad soul. Dont let people mislead you into thinking this guy is a Christian. He is not a crusader for anyone but himself.”
I am emphatically **NOT** defending the Lord's Resistance Army or its conduct. However, we're dealing with African rebels, not a disciplined European or even Asian military force.
Trying to hold the Contras in Latin America to American standards of military conduct — or the South Vietnamese or the South Koreans in prior conflicts — was not exactly a resounding success. The reason is that those American standards presume a disciplined cadre of military leaders who hold to Judeo-Christian values, and a much larger body of citizens who will take up arms to defend their country when needed and who share those values. Those citizens may need to be taught military order and discipline, but teaching people **HOW** to fire a rifle is far easier than teaching them **WHEN** and **WHY** to do so, or when **NOT** to do so.
We also need to remember our own Western history. With some important exceptions, the political leaders at the time of the Reformation and the Crusades were not exactly known for high standards of personal morality — many of them would quite correctly be attacked as hypocrites who used religion for personal profit or political goals. That's as true if not more true for many of the officers and soldiers in pre-modern armies of Europe.
We've been fortunate in the United States to generally have military leaders who held at least to culturally Judeo-Christian standards of ethics and enforced appropriate discipline on their troops, but many of the key military campaigns in European history were marked by grotesque levels of immorality, thievery, and wanton destruction of civilian lives and property. Even armies which were known as models of good order and discipline and which were motivated in large measure by religious zeal — Oliver Cromwell's military compared to the actions of the king's Cavaliers make an obvious example, but others could be cited — routinely committed actions which were harsh even by the standards of their day and would be considered war atrocities today.
We're used to the idea of American soldiers being the good guys who try to win over the population by handing out food, building public works projects, and holding disobedient soldiers to account. Those are all good things but they are products of our Judeo-Christian civilization that are not shared in a lot of other places in the world.
People are trying so hard to appear fair minded toward 0 and the religious components, let’s put this in other terms.
Let’s pretend that there’s a sheriff who was raised in Hungary and is half Hungarian. And now he’s sheriff of a town that is half Hungarian and half Romanian. And his town is riddled with a Hungarian crime spree — 10,000 crimes which the shreriff ignores. Instead, he jumps on one Romanian gang. Yes, the Romanian gang is evil, but the sheriff always said that those Romanians were “evil”, and now he has “proof”. And his raid on the gang just happens to occur when the sheriff is suffering bad PR from two scandals. Coincidence? Hardly.
Obama tries his best to look the other way when muslims cut the breasts off Christian mothers. But boy oh boy if he learns about violence from self-proclaimed “Christians”, then he pounces, especially when he needs a distraction from his scandals, might help out Soros, might gain some way regarding Uganda’s oil, etc.
